When a Swiss man says he likes potatoes, he doesn't mean what you think he means. He's actually talking about shredding them and mixing them with onions and various seasonings, from turmeric to white pepper, obliterating any taste the potato might have once had. Sometimes they add bacon to it. By the time they're done, it tastes like anything BUT potatoes, you could replace the potatoes with Chinese plastic rice and no one would be able to tell the difference.

People don't really like cheese. They don't want to eat three bricks of cheese a day for each meal. They sit down with their cheese, covered in bread, slathered with condiments, and they pretend to like cheese. You could replace the cheese with some type of synthetic plastoid to replicate the texture and they wouldn't know.
