How much is your per diem anon? I traveled for about 7 years, getting $75-79 a day averaging about $21,000 a year. I still spent about half of that on decent food because I didn't want to live like a complete fucking destitute bum for 7 years.

I really wish hotels with kitchens in the room would offer some sort of air tight sealing but I get it, it would all just get stolen.
It really sucks I try to go to hotels that have full kitchens but they have to use the most absolute shit utensils or else they just get stolen. The chef's knives are always serrated, the cutting board is missing two pads on opposite corners, the pans are a flaky non-stick and domed in the center.
I travel with my own knife, cutting board, oil, and spices now.

I usually opt for steamable bagged vegetables or bagged salad and plain yogurt if no microwave. It beats the constipation and diarrhea from slop.

Sometimes I miss traveling for work and eating slop in my hotel room on the company dime, but that's just Stockholm Syndrome, really. It was a miserable existence.
