The point is flavor, dummy. Sugar would be the original recipe, which affects mouthfeel and flavor both.

Healthwise, it's a lot of quickly digested sugar, whether fructose or sucrose, probably does spike the blood sugar, too. All things in moderation. If you do have blood sugar issues, I'd switch to diet, where you are then balancing those side effects vs sugar's effect on your body.

Truth. Also diet, light or low carb/fat/sugar foods and drinks are good for you. So that means I can eat or drink 5 times as many of them in a single serving.
