This is AI. There's no way they really do this because the "cup" would get bigger after doing this and wouldn't be the same serving size, so they'd have to make new ice for every customer. So they just throw away all these used blocks of ice in the trash? It would be incredibly wasteful, not to mention make a huge mess when it melts and leaks out all over the floor.
