The cokes are in a refrigerator. You take the ticket for the coke you want and bring it to the cashier, who gives you a ticket for the cash machine. (the cashier doesn't actually take your money, that would be stupid) you give the cash machine ticket to the cashier who gives you a card for the coke refrigerator.

So you don’t have to wait to purchase your soda before you drink it. It’s a lot more convenient, and you don’t get a warm soda to drink later.
