Someone here claimed a while ago that putting ranch dressing on pizza was something that arose in the past decade or so.

Bullshit. We were doing this with Gumby's pizza and Pokey Stix when I went to college over twenty years ago.

I've discovered that getting an order of cheesy garlic bread like this is excellent as a base for your culinary masterpieces. I personally like to get spicy salami and smoke turkey, layer the meats on top of it and then cover it with ranch and honey mustard and chopped up chicken fingers.

I have not thought about Gumby's pizza in 30 years. Only had it once but I remember it being decent pizza, better than what papa johns or pizza hut serves today. But back then there was a local favorite called Garcia's that was even better.

The cheese pie I ever had was from Staten Island in the seventies, Formaggio al Forno! That was the first place we ever saw that had ranch cups to dip the crust in. It's closed down now after mama Hotz died but her sons still ran the place for years without her.

It was being done a very long time ago but only by children who had not developed the proper sense of shame about being a disgusting fucking pig. Adults would do it as well but they were ashamed of themselves and would not do it in company.
