Salads. Eating salads in my 30s gives me an absurd amount of kidney stones, bloating, and gastrointestinal distress. Now I’m forced to eat hamburgers cooked in butter and slathered with mayonnaise or eat fettuccine alfredo or french fries covered in fry sauce instead of eating crisp, clean vegetables. Shit sucks. I haven’t been able to weigh less than 150lbs in months and it makes me feel like a fatass.

My dutch grandmother's apple pie. My mom has claimed before to have the recipe written down somewhere but I haven't seen any evidence of this, I think she has no idea and was just lying to placate me. The thought of it practically brings me to tears, it was so delicious.
Fuck all of you for giving some mass-produced goyfeed as your example

describe your typical salad to me

This is the most american thing I've read in a long while. Allergic to vegetables. Thanks for the laugh. Maybe try not to slather your salad with mayonnaise based sauces, fatass. >>21686347
Greedy, jewey hands typed this. Gross.

Mixed greens, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, and olives with a homemade vinaigrette. Mushrooms if I was going to be having sex later that night.

I’m not about to take the advice of someone who’s scared of plants or the bite of vinegar. I USED to be able to eat salads like I used to make all the time. I can’t now because I’m getting older, and my body now has different needs. Each body is different and constantly changing. Just because you drink bleach doesn’t mean the rest of us want to. I WANT to eat a veggie salad like I used to. I CAN’T and MISS it. That’s the point of this thread. Reminiscing about something lost.
People sayong... >muh bread muh bread
Nawww niggas. I'd miss onions most of all. Cooked onions give so much flavour to meats and veggies. Lend a spark to dishes when raw. Such a significant flavour base. For grains, or even carbs in general, I'd mostly miss them in the form of beer. And that, I have only one to three times a week. Also, fresh fruit would suck to lose.

anon tied up and the devil force feeding him donuts. you are so full of shit, your eyes are brown.

I love onions but without grains and their products the entire world would turn upside down. no noodles, no dumplings, no bread. grains disappearing would be apocalyptic.

I assumed OP meant if I personally had to do without one food, what would be most challenging to cope with. Not a global loss of one piece of produce.

Yeah. I'd still say grains. No chicken tenders or mozzarella sticks, no brie en croute, no toast, no naan.
I would sacrifice all alliums before I sacrificed grains. I'd still have mushrooms and ginger. And horseradish and mustard, and capsicums for raw pungency.
Grains are humanity's best friend. Alliums are a hot piece of ass.

Not even a ketotard, it's just easier to give up for me. Also, that the forst food ypu mentioned was chicken tenders is just silly. Reminds me of my autistic coworker. I would miss nice breads, and beer. That's it. Over half my dinners would suffer from no aliums.
>>21686407 >You’re mixing way too much veggies
What? When I make salads I put every vegetable I have in there. My typical salad has spinach and red cabbage and maybe kale as a base, then tomatoes, onions, celery, cucumber, mushroom, peppers, carrots, olives and whatever else I might have from the garden, like radishes or broccoli

That's like saying roasting tomatoes and vegetables and blending them into soup reminds you of campbell's. Or cooking a hamburger reminds you of fat people eating 8 big macs. There are low quality mass produced versions of almost every food. If you source quality ingredients and create your own food, it is completely divorced from whatever comes out of rupture farms.
I'm curious what your diet looks like if you hardly eat grains or grain products though. It's honestly an achievement because it's hard for me to imagine. And like, do you cook for fun? I can't imagine being a culinary enthusiast and not simply eating grains by incident.
