2011 Killua is drawn much more masculine later on. He's noticeably more muscular and broader in CA and Election. I do agree his Hunter Exam design in particular is pretty offensive though. 2011 also has some really nice outfits for him.

'11 Kil had this air of femininity due to his generic moe redesign and aging down that I simply don't like. 99 Kil looked, felt and acted like a real boy his age and I loved that. 2011 isnt a complete botch job at all. Hunter Exam, Greed Island and the very beginning of CA are botched, but its pretty solid outside of that. I prefer 1999's art style overall, but I think 1999 honestly is worse in pretty much every way other than visuals. Characters feel OOC at times in 2011, but they feel really OOC a lot in 1999. I'd really like a new remake which is closer to 1999 visually but with more accurate storytelling than both.

Yorknew is also botched, especially with how well 1999 adapted it. On a baseline, 1999 may be lesser visually but when it hits a stride, it blows 2011 out of the fucking water. That's worth far more to me than being consistently mediocre. I appreciated 1999's OC elements a lot, actually. I just found it a far more rewarding and memorable experience as a whole, not just how lovely Kil was.
I think it's time we all moved on from Hunter x Hunter. It definitely doesn't need a new anime. I haven't kept up with the manga since early in DC. It should just end. Huge waste of energy on both parties. Just an innane circlejerk. He'll never finish it because he thinks of his fans and supporters as idiots who'll lap him up no matter what and I can't support that.

I'll just say I disagree heavily, the only thing botched about Yorknew is the colour palette and the use of neon bright colours everywhere (which is a problem with A LOT of anime once it went digital sadly), as well as the art direction on a few scenes, but overall its solid.
