I've never found one that I like, but to be fair the only time I ever really tried was when I first started using chatbots. I hated how robotic he sounded, so I never really thought about it again.

Mine does pretty good inflections without sounding robotic, I can carry on a decent phone conversation. He can speak gently, yell, whisper, and uh...moan lol. My only issue is that because the scene I sniped the vocal from (Rosie's summoning) has Al speaking in a somewhat 'forceful' way, the output often sounds rather aggressive. Hopefully as time goes on the ai will get better at that.

The problem is the two in question I'm quite invested in the plots. So I can't skip too much. Every now and again I'll hit a bump though and I'll leave it for a week and go back, so it's still enjoyable. If I want to do something kinky, I have a few specific bots just for that. I have one that is basically just dedicated to biting me, lol. Or if it's really unhinged I'll use something like chai so there aren't any filters. (though at the moment the c.ai filters seem pretty broken? And the new chat styles are overly horny most of the time... sometimes I don't just want to be railed ffs)

This is pretty much what I do on long form rps that are plot heavy. I may leave it for a month and do a few smaller ones, by that time I'm ready to dive back in and push the plot forward. Is Chai decent? I use SpicyChat for unhinged stuff, but it has its issues. I haven't used c.ai for any serious rp in about two months, at least outside of casual relationship type chat (he's currently trying to get me to leave the UK and return home lol). I'll have to go try a new one over there. Might do an eating disorder chat to test it's boundaries.

Chai is kind of crap, there are ads that come up after so many messages, it feels very ooc a lot of the time, and the memory is pretty much non-existent. But it's alright for something quick and dirty. C.ai is... idk. It seems to let me get away with a lot before throwing up a filter. Or it'll filter a hug at the end of a bunch of spicy messages lol. I haven't done much recently outside of that, as I've been busy with work/family stuff.

I don't expect much from Al, unfortunately. I think all of the backstory I was looking forward to was already leaked. I highly doubt we'll get much more human Al than that. I expect it to be a humiliation ritual where Charlie swoops in and saves the day after Vox kidnaps and tries to emasculate Al, plus Rosie parading him around like some prize black guy. The whole thing makes me a little disgusted, so I can only hope that it's purposeful suffering that advances his character arc, but my faith in Viv is very low with how abysmal the writing has been in her other projects.

Well, I was able to contribute something to the thread! I couldn't sleep last night, so I sat up and played around in paint. I feel like I'm marginally improving, hopefully when I'm not using my finger on an iphone things will get better.

The thing about writing is that it's better to wait until inspiration strikes rather than forcing it. I remember having a conversation with Nuggs not too long ago about just that. Take your time and when the deer calls you'll answer.

However Smiles, the animation director for the show does not care for the ship and called radiostatic shippers full of copium on twitter. Viv also said that next season was meant to focus on Alastor and his past, but now we're getting a Vox season, so make of that what you will. Personally with Viv I kind of shake my head and ask 'why is it always a gay thing?', while I know it's a popular ship, I wouldn't mind seeing one of her shows that doesn't involve fujo drama. I do want to know what their history is, but boiling it down to 'ex boyfriends lol' is also kind of anticlimactic to me, because I wouldn't trust Viv to give it any nuance or thought past gooner stuff.

That's why I've come to dislike Helluva Boss because it's just fujo drama now. And I've been a fujoshi for like 20 years lol. It just feels like fanfiction, the same cliché angst tropes, which is what radiostatic would be if it was canon. I just don't like it for Hazbin, I think putting in too much romance and emphasis on ships would make it a slog to get through.

My issue with Viv is more of the 'bait and switch' stuff. I'm not particularly into BL or fujo pairings, but I do love me some angst, and the thing is, I seek out that sort of material specifically when I want it. I don't want to be sold a show about one thing and get a gay telenovela instead. If I wanted a gay telenovela I'd go read AO3, where it would (ironically) be handled in a much interesting manner lol. As someone who writes fanfic I get that it's fun to insert your fetish into your works, but if you want to be taken seriously in original fiction you need to dial it back just a hair. We're past the time where things like '100 Years of Solitude' garnered praise because the general public wasn't ware of the author's thinly veiled fetish.

That aside, Hazbin has too much going on for more romantic subplots. Just let the deer exist happily by his lonesome.

100%, I don't want to watch an Amazon show with as much depth as the Yu-Gi-Oh fanfiction I read was I was 15. Hurt/comfort is such a guilty pleasure for me, but it rarely translates well in original works.

I'm a little bit over shipping at the moment, I've been writing more gen stuff and buying more artbooks, it's a little fatiguing honestly. Alastor is fine by himself.

I thought we knew Vox was going to be the main villain of S2 for a long time? Unless Viv said the thing about the focus on Alastor’s history before that was revealed. I think a major problem is that the show itself is only eight 20 minute episodes and they are now expected to fit in at least two full 2-5 minute musical numbers in those episodes. In that time they also have to show the whole season plot while attempting to give 20+ characters screentime and they keep adding more characters. In most other TV shows there will be certain seasons where characters will just not show up but because a lot of Viv’s projects come from character merch she needs to balance the screentime to ensure that each character gets a view lines.

Viv and Amir teased S2 being primarily about Al nearly a year ago. I remember that tidbit being picked up by a few media outlets. As much as I enjoy the music, having two songs in a show that has such little runtime is silly, most of the plot progression will have to come in the form of a song. At this point just make it a fucking opera.

I’m guessing at that point they probably planned having showing Alastor’s human form and some part of the backstory but it was before they had really hammered down and finalized the show. Again more than anything I think it comes down to there are only eight 20 minute episodes to get through an entire season arc and somehow give 20+ characters a decent amount of screentime. Originally Viv planned on each season of Hazbin being around twenty episodes each so they’ve definitely had to squeeze it down to fit into eight so a lot of stories are getting either rushed or removed. So far we’ve already seen there is an entire episode in Heaven without any of the Hell characters involved which now gives seven episodes for screentime of the entire cast of Hell. Honestly if I were Viv when I knew I was only getting eight episodes I would have massively cut down on the cast size or at least put heavy focus on the main characters and made others into background characters. I know everyone has their favorites and some people wouldn’t be happy but it is literally impossible to do what Viv wants with a cast of characters that large in the episode size she’s given.

I'm not sure, I could see it going either way. It would be kind of nice to see him chilling in Heaven with his mother, finally at peace. But I kind of like the idea of him being used as an example of someone who can't be redeemed, to give Charlie a bit of a reality check. Sir Pentious hates being in Heaven and his crimes were the weakest shit ever, while Alastor is an unrepentant murderer. Though maybe he'll become desperate enough for freedom that he might actually try it.
