Everyone else's wacky robot chicken eyes are whatever but Finn specifically makes me feel like this was intentionally a reference to Pibby. Also the way they do the glitching doesn't feel like it works for the tone of the digital no-budget effect, and is more about being "creepy" like Bug's realistic horror face at the end for no reason instead of just some CGI or crude drawing or whatever.

As someone who likes the void arc in Gumball and finds it pretty cool, I'm going to be pissed if its time off the air means time to force Pibby shit into the story and ruining it. I know people hate lore and serialization drama in Gumball and that's fine, I agree it can be a pain when an episodic cartoon tries to take itself too seriously, but the void/meta stuff in Gumball has always been pretty cool since they have the budget/visuals to back up an ambitious idea. But if they actually toss Pibby-inspired elements or nods to it, it's gonna make me sick. We know Ben likes edgy weird internet stuff like the Don't Hug Me I'm Scared parody so it'd be par for the course really (no, DHMIS isn't shit like Pibby, it's actually unique) but I really wouldn't want it overlapping with anything important.

I hope at best this was just his "meta idea" for CN stuff for this all-purpose network promotional and not something he'd actually do for Gumball.

Despite Ben being involved this was somehow harder to sit through than later Gumball, I don't remember that show ever doing constant fart jokes down to bubbling buttcheeks and green gas, this was just fucking horrendous.
