Ok finally caught up, and not a bad start but honestly unlike spider-boy nothing to interesting either.
First note is, how does she have webs again? bailey doesn't have webs or the knowledge to make web fluid and she only temporarily gets the power/knowledge kind of weird she could just make them.
Also think they really need to give her a "hero moment/origin" we now know she has a mom so she really makes even less sense as a character. Before I assumed since bullseye could just take her she must have been some type of orphan or foster kid like bailey was at the start. But her having a mom makes her origin and situation even weirder.
Another thing is the fact she is 10-12 years old but is just allowed to live in new york alone. Like who's her guardian and why is a karate guy who was defeated by a rat man so special she stayed in New york. I think she should get reconnected with bailey or become silk's protege as bailey is spider man's
But first big thing they need to do is nerf her powers, get rid of the information gain. As just being able to negate and steal the rat men power to control rats to control them is insane and makes her lowkey invincible. But add on to that gaining instant better version of powers and a persons whole life story is just to much.
So far it has potential but she is like most new female mcs, she has no rhyme or reason. No dead parents, no call to action, no trauma or backstory. As we already know she used to be evil just for fun and she loves showing up people and winning just for the love of the game. So she has no real arc or faults as she has no qualms with being a mutant or hate for her power so she uses it so freely to win making her kind of bland.
Overall a fine first issue but they need to really hit the ground running if they want to keep from being canned. Though I honestly don't know what you can or should do with maka?
