Commonly "multiverses" are ripped off and taken from many worlds theory which is technically 4d construct, this "construct" is more time-based in quantum science bullshit, but in fiction it's just taken as a 3d universe being a cross section of a 4d structure with infinite 3d universes in it, much in the way they are in lovecraft.

Dimensional (R4 to R11) scaling is a comprehensive way to scale quantitative differences in multiverses and their complexity.

To destroy multiverses would logically make you low or high R4, but supes and Goku have barely achieved that. So they would be low R4.

Most of the fight is Asura using his pre dlc scaling and him and Kratos going back and forth with that. Then towards the end he powers up with the Mantra Reactor and it becomes a stomp.

I think it’s a bit overrated but I can see it was so huge in the 2000s, the fight scenes and mecha designs were great but I didn’t care much for most of the characters, Kamina was alright but I don’t like him anywhere near as much as most people who like TTGL whether it’s because of already knowing how his story turns our or hype backlash from everyone making him out to the best thing ever, I ended up liking Simon more than him during the second half, Viral was great, Nia was cool too which makes her dying at the end that wedding scene much shittier than it would have otherwise been, the villain being a well intentioned extremist who thinks he’s saving the universe with his cruel methods is a great concept and one of the more interesting parts of TTGL’s plot, I’d say it’s a 6/10, it would’ve likely been a 7 if that wedding scene didn’t pop up to slap me in the face and hammer home the extremely obvious lesson of humans needing to keep moving forward.

I actually thought the animation for Kratos vs. Asura was good. I know a lot of people had problems with it, but I thought it was great.

Even if you disagree about Asura losing, given the power gap between the two it makes sense for Kratos to take little damage. It also put Kratos in some kind of a mentor or elder role to Asura, and let Kratos show how far he had come by defeating someone who had been down the same path as him. He wasn't just fighting Asura, he was TEACHING Asura. And I think that's very heartwarming in a way. That Kratos would take the lessons he learned and help someone who was just like him.

If this weren't a Death Battle I'm sure they would have ended cordially and taught each other well. The alternate ending is weird, even if heartwarming in its own way. It was nice to see Kratos reunite with his daughter, but it feels weird to have him just stand there and take that punch.

I haven't played Asura's game though (but after watching this fight I think I might watch a playthrough!) so I might be missing stuff but as a big GoW fan I thought they did Kratos justice and from what I saw they treated Asura with the utmost respect. What character has ever gotten an alternate ending made just for them?
