Orion wasn't an infant when the trade happened, it's not clear what Orion's age was, but he was maybe in his early teens. So Orion spent his most formative years surviving on Apokalips. The first thing he does when he gets to New Genisis is try to stab High Father, because Darkseid expected Orion to be nothing but a burden and pain for High Father to deal with.

This simple fact makes, "Orion doesn't know suffering!" take complete bullshit to anyone that knows anything about New Gods.

My advice is to stick to Kirby's work on them. So Forever People, The New Gods, and Mister Miracle, and Kirby's era of Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen.
If you wanna get into New Gods material beyond Fourth World, then I can only really recommend Walt Simonson's Orion miniseries. It's the closest that comes to Kirby.

I agree but the whole story felt like xena, college lib arts style of "look at my cooky artistic depiction of the greek gods" and changing diana's origin so its less feminine and focused on Aphrodite, makes her and the amazons more savage, she doesnt even shout HOLLA and all the classic elements are largely absent. Azzarello's run is the closest thing in spirit to Marston's Wonder Woman, most fans are just too caught up in post-Crisis garbage to see. Even some of he controversial stuff was done by Marston before.

Since this is 4chan and I can be honest, it's because Wonder Woman is more trouble than she's worth. The character is a fucking minefield of politics and no matter what you do odds the show will get called sexist by some losers with nothing better to do. If Diana is less than perfect, if the amazons are less than perfect, if they use the wrong villains, if they use the right villains, if any male character does anything, it'll get complaints.
C-listers have less baggage and are thus a safer bet.
