Dawn of War 3 killed Dawn of War as a series.
It wasn't like Soulstorm, on which the playerbase was divisive but eventually recovered.
To this day, Dawn of War 3 has less players than Dawn of War 2, despite being broken up into three versions and being anywhere from 6 to 8 years older. People are currently choosing a 14 year old game over the third installment.
