Why does it feel that board driven cartoons are dying?
Did Steven Universe poison the well that bad? There were plenty of good board cartoons well before then (Ren and Stimpy, SpongeBob prior to season 10, PPG classic, nearly every Genndy show, and a bunch more I'm probably forgetting)

Studios gutted the layout department, leading to extra work for boarders so now a lot of them are avoiding board driven shows like the plague. Boarders are also key framing shit now.

Steven Universe was literally a board driven cartoon, it had no script writers. You can google this in five seconds. In fact that was part of the problem with it, because it was trying to be an overarching story but the boarders were given almost complete control over how episodes were handled.

This has a lot to do with Sugar being a pussy and refusing to reign her crew in. Even board shows have outlines to follow, many go pretty in depth.
Also a big reason for all the massive proportion mistakes (midget steven, big head connie, the ever shrinking peridot). She just let them do whatever

Just stop watching modern slop, there's a reason Gen A is switching over to just finding stuff on YouTube, not to mention Korean/Russian/Kazakh/Canadians/French/Italians have all their cartoons uploaded for free on YouTube.

I don't mind off model as long as it's used for comedic reasons, but Steven Universe should've had at least some quality control. At least Daron Nerfcy forced all her new artists she brought on to take a test before working on Star VS, but Rebecca just hired her faggot friends off Tumblr and completely ruined the industry because now we have mentally ill morons who are forcing wokeness down everyone's throats. It's fine though because fate has a funny way of biting back and it's in the form of the layoffs and the industry crashing and them losing their jobs.
