Bo-Katan should have been a villain in S3.
S2 clearly hinted her obsessive desire to rule again, and she was clearly seething about Din beating Gideon in combat, and she was extremely antagonistic towards Boba. It was written all over, that she was gonna be the antagonist. And it would make sense from character perspective: she failed twice, and she obsessively tried to over-correct, with that goal clouding her judgement, and taking her down the darker path. Season 3 was so fucking retarded, I can't even. Din was made a cuck, his entire story and character development regressed, retarded cult that forces you to wear a bucket on your head is good ackchyually, somehow baby yoda returned, Bo-Katan gets the Darksaber on technicality (lmao), somehow Gideon returns, Satine never mentioned, no real study of Mando culture and its destructive nature, Darksaber ends up getting destroyed lmao. Such a mess.

Yes, they were always allies in the finale. This was the story pitched by Lucas, with the original scripts written by Matt Michnovetz back in 2012. It was more like a reluctant alliance, since they had a common goal in capturing Maul. But we don't know how Ahsoka and Bo originally came in contact. Coruscant Underworld arc was changed in the Disney release to tie into the finale, since it was originally in S6, so Bo and Maul were originally not in it. So they originally met in S8 probably, in the Sith Shrine arc, which was the penultimate arc right before Siege of Mandalore originally.
