Mostly, people back then at the time of Rebels S4 finale were still in denial, thinking that Dave had some good story to tell, so they gave it a pass. People still loved TCW Ahsoka very much, as indicated by insane success of TCW S7. Even Mandalorian S2 cameo tricked people into automatically liking it in the aftermath of TCW revival, even though the voices of dissent could already be heard, saying that Rosario Dawson was complete shit in the role, and the costume/lekku/montrals were awful. Her solo show was really bad, and what really killed the character. Eight episodes of THIS, character squandered for this. So that we could watch some bland, boring hag in shitty cosplay barely move, in a complete nothingburger of a story.
