I'd retire it and go back the the style of humans they'd been doing for stuff like Inside Out and the newer Toy Story movies. It's pretty clear that this sort of style isn't very popular with audiences and probably contributed to Elbert in Space or whatever it was called flopping.

>don't give characters huge round ears and noses that make them look like goblins
>stop making limbs look like sausages
>don't make teeth perfectly square blocks
>don't make eyes almost perfect circles
And most importantly
>stop mixing simplistic designs with hyperrealistic textures

>Artists and employees defend it, referencing Aardman, clearly trying to play coy to this visual garbage that'd been infecting 2D animation for a decade already
>Literally every Pixar film that uses bean mouth flops

They were warned literally half a decade ago, but they pushed fives years of movies with this style.

I'd try to emulate 2d imagery as much as possible. I wouldn't show any unflattering angles, and I'd go so far as to dramatically morph the face depending on the angle of the camera like Dragon Ball Fighterz does to preserve that 2D look.

At that point, we might as well just draw the whole thing in 2D, but I don't want to because I like working with 3d and I don't like drawing.

I think Pixar just needs to lay off human characters for a while. Focus on anthropomorphic characters instead.

If they absolutely have to have humans, then try to make them adults. Because you can get away with more angular facial features on adults. Dracula's face in Hotel Transylvania is basically just a diamond shape with an angular pointy nose. Drac's silhouette is very angular as well.

An angular face and frame feels more memorable than a blobby bean face. I should be able to tell who the character is from just the silhouette. Meilin and Elio are pretty much the same from the silhouette.

I mean isn’t this style like already dying? Beanmouth shows like Primos and StuGo are dying after one season and Pixars upcoming films like Hoppers and Gato are moving away from this style. Even fucking redditors are waking up to how bad this style is based on this comment section:
https://www.reddit.com/r/cartoons/comments/1lhsbbp/pixars_current_art_style_debate/
The only thing that I fear will revive it is the fact that we’re getting revivals of the four biggest 2010s Cartoon Network shows.

Thing is, I fucking hate Tangled, and I fucking hate Frozen. Tangled felt like a prototype of Disney 3D movies, I can't remember any song, the animal sidekick trope was really obvious and stupid here with the out of place no point chameleon, the animation was often awkward, and I hate how the villain was relatable in her fear of dying yet gets literally murdered by one of the protagonists. Not accidental or something. Literally hands-on murdered.

>is, I fucking hate Tangled, and I fucking hate Frozen
That's fine. Tbh I never really liked Frozen, every other song besides 2 were really forgettable so I get where you're coming from, same with Tangled's songs if I'm being honest but I vastly prefer the art direction of the latter.
>Tangled felt like a prototype of Disney 3D movie
That's because they sunk a lot of money into it and it ended up being successful, so in a way it became a blueprint for their later movies both in look and writing but like poor imitations. None of their movies since Tangled have looked quite as nice.

Really? Aside from the original Donkey Kong, Wallace & Gromit, and a few random anime scenes here and there as mentioned in >>149123964, the first /co/ I noticed with beanmouth were Adventure Time and Fish Hooks in 2010. Coincidentally, both shows premiered in months apart from each other that year.

As for Flapjack, I've read that its humor, animation, framing, and tropes inspired shows like Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Gravity Falls. However, beanmouth smiles themselves weren't noticeable in Flapjack in 2008 compared to Adventure Time and Fish Hooks in 2010.

As for Wallace & Gromit, I read that a short called A Grand Day Out debuted in the UK in 1989, but that's nearly a 20-year gap between that and Flapjack's 2008 debut on CN. Also, AFAIK A Grand Day Out wasn't available the US until the 2000s and The Curse of the Were-Rabbit got an American release in 2005.

I mean I like Flapacks style there are some moments in it where you can see the beanmouth style beginning to sprout. You can see it in some of Alex Hirsch’s scenes (he would go onto create Gravity Falls and completely deny the fact that the beanmouth style still exists on Xitter, fucking moron)

Honestly regarding this image I wish that modern cartoons still let board artists styles shine through, literally the only cartoon that does it these days is modern SpongeBob and The Patrick Star Show, which is one of the many reasons why I feel that those shows expressive animation is underappreciated.
