Glad ya like it, friend! That was a very recent addition actually, which considering her wild design history makes sense all things considered. I've always had a general blueprint for how she would look but her many details have shifted a WHOLE lot.

I think this was the first doodle I did with this specific design, a good while back. I've had quite a lot of iterations since then but kinda just circled back this time around.

One of my main OCs right here, I have a more zoomed in piece but I've been trying to draw more backgrounds lately so he's a bit more off to the side on this one.

Seconding the other anon, the best character isn't one you try to make unique but rather one that is solely made out of the creator's interest. If we've all got our unique qualities they'll show through the character one way or another, especially because the result will be more authentic as a result of genuine intrigue on behalf of the creator. Basically hone your autism and just let that be your guide, that's where SOUL comes from.

he's a cyborg, about 60% metal to 40% organic. Very, very heavily inspired by Monsoon from MGR:R because I made him around the time that game first came out, though I didn't do anything with him for about 7 or 8 years. Now I use him for animations, and he's caught the eye of some very talented artists. I'm very lucky that he was as well recieved as he has been.

Now that you mention MGR I totally see it now, that is some SOLID inspiration right there my friend. The whole idea of an alien race with cartoon powers is honestly very terrifying in retrospect. Just imagine getting invaded by The Mask thousands of times over basically. Really neat idea either way, and pompadours are ALWAYS a top tier design choice. One of my main OCs almost had a pompadour before I changed it up to be a bit more swirly/wavy. Funnily enough he also has some weird meta/wacky abilities of his own due to the nature of his setting. I'd reckon he'd be pretty decent friends with your fella.

One of my favorite things about picking out magnetism as his primary ability is that it's only really limited by the imagination of whoever uses him, because magnets have a ton of applications and there are so many popular characters with similar abilities that you can draw inspiration from

For this specific look (at least in Clip Studio) I use a default pen, specifically the round mixing brush, and I'll apply the border effect BEFORE I've drawn anything. Essentially this does this cool thing where when you lightly press the brush down or do the first strokes it starts as the color you set for the border effect(black in this case) and then you just press in/do a few more strokes over areas you want to lighten up. Keep in mind I think I have a version of Clip Studio all the way back from years ago so things are probably gonna look different now.

Anybody got any 'aura farming' OCs? Ignoring the zoomer vernacular I'm talking any characters that they love to just throw in a scene to show them off and basically hype them up. I got a select few and they're always fun to work with, just a matter of not tipping into Mary Sue/Gary Stu territory I suppose which I think I manage well enough (I hope).

I usually only lurk but I feel like I'm finally finding an excuse to NOT do that which is pretty neat. I'll have to scope you out next time one of those pop up then, it really is some badass stuff.

Also fair, when in doubt block in, gotta respect the grind when I see it. I kinda fuck around like a headless chicken until something hopefully works, but blocking in usually gets me through a roadblock during the process. I ususally just suck at sitting down and focusing, though.

she can exist in other continuities as well. in TFA she's brought to life in a similar manner to wreck-gar. when the all-spark detonated, a piece of it went into orbit, only coming down a long time later. in wreck-gar's view, he made a wish on a shooting star for a friend and it came true

in other continuities, she can be an autobot that was purposefully stranded on junkion for unknown reasons. but her connection with wreck-gar still remains, and she gets along pretty well with the other junkions, too

You're moving into the right direction, he has fun qualities that seem like you can resonate with as the creator.

Now take those qualities see if you can write an interesting one/two sentence story revolving him, that hook will be everything you need. It's less a matter of what he's like and more so what he is. For example "A fearless man works to bring fear to the streets, a saint who targets zealots with his fists. But...he can only do so much at the age of 12." Something like that, that wasn't a great example but I hope you get my point.

in transformers, "junkions" are a type of cybertronians who live on, basically a giant astral junkyard. they're made of spare parts and garbage and speak in tv quotes. i adore scavenger societies, and they're not really a major faction, so i'd love to futz around with them and flesh them out a bit more with my own ideas.

junkions don't really exist in TFA, but wreck-gar is still made from garbage. he's very enthusiastic and naïve and voiced by Weird Al, and i wanted a character who would match his energy. inspirations include ty lee and a certain brightly colored equine who gets with her universe's weird al

tfa ratchet's design uses the front of his car form to create a sort of old man stomach, so i used that idea and flipped it upside down to give her a bust. a lot of female transformers have samey bodytypes (likely due to toy mold limitations) and i wanted to do something, a little out of the ordinary. since bigger bots are usually wreckers. i still have to work on her but i'm glad she has appeal even now

honestly, i thought the same way at first. with a few drills of drawing Shapes And Cubes in perspective, it becomes easier. TFA in particular has a nice mix of more amorphous parts and solid shapes, and they're considerably more simple than say, armada or even G1. you can fudge the proportions more, too

Thread inspired me to draw some more of my doll girl last night some more. I had a lore idea that her tail has a mind of its own and, unlike her, also a sense of self-preservation. As such it’s basically the only thing keeping her from her own demise which she is always very willing to jump towards. Right here it’s stopping her from playing a game of chicken with traffic.

What I have right now is some recluse/hermit sort of fellow into the occult and mysticism made over a hundred of these living dolls to both act as assistants of some sorts but also to be used for…some other grand purpose. One day the fellow dipped, and all the dolls ended up going their own ways once he would depart. She unfortunately lost many of her memories, and it is unknown why her mind was designed with part of it removed, but part of her journey now is attempting to find her creator in the hopes she may finally satiate this curiosity.

Of course, it’s also an excuse to get into plenty of danger and get her thrills cause she’s REALLY into that.

Oh, and the only other thing she knows by experimenting is that she has this vague ability called ‘spark’ which seems to imbue things with life, and she also has some shapeshifting capabilities.

Honestly you have to treat shading and drawing with volume overall like sculpting. A lot of my drawings are me placing shapes down and shaving bits down until it’s all blocked in where I need it to be. If you approach it from a sculpting mindset it becomes much easier. I have a post somewhere up in the thread detailing a specific method I use for shading actually.

>She dated a 13 year old boy at the age of 16 because of her wanting comphet and wanting a boy as "unmanly" as possible; she ends up dumping him after she was done and did not get what she wanted
>Years later she realized how fucked up it actually was and was extremely ashamed and tried to send that boy money for "screwing up his childhood"; the boy kind of became happier(?) but did not fully forgive her because he was severely traumatized from it
>Zhenya became resenting her father for fucking up her mom from young age as well despite previously having better relationship with him than with her mom

Nah I think it’s actually thoroughly entertaining stuff because it’s so earnest if anything. It isn’t trying too hard, but it’s got some edge to it. It’s like a slice of life with some bite to it, I actually really dig it. Plus, it acts as a good backdrop for a lot of scenarios I feel.

She is part of a sort of mercenary team/gang in my biopunk worldbuilding project. My intentions for her and the gang she is part of is to use them in some sort of webcomic or something that takes place in the setting, because I figured that it would be the most realistic/feasible way of me getting more out of the worldbuilding I've been doing. Most of my work for the setting has been focused on worldbuilding itself rather than tellign stories within it, which in hindsight was kind of an assbackwards approach which I am hoping to fix with a comic.
