All of his character development feels like the most generic, paint by numbers writing possible.

We have ot watched the same show. The reason rwby got more hate is actually focusing on the main girls somehow made them likable as shit or really boring. Even when given the chance alot for the girls will throw their own agency aside and do jackshit (Blake) or become an unlikable bitch (yang).
Ruby and Wiess issues are more the fact that when Ruby got focus, it affirmed that she was right just the way she was. Weiss' issues ended up being dealt with by other people over her to the point you could swap her out for anyone. Part of me blames the happy huntresses and the election plot, cause you could have easily have just used the aesops and winter for a divide motif when it came to mantle if need be.

I think one of the issues HBomberGuy should have brought up is the fact MKEK doesn't know anything about history or current sociopolitics. I think that's what really sets apart creators like James Cameron, Tony Gilroy, or George Lucas from the rest. Sure, the latter aren't perfect, but at least you can tell they read one or two history books.

Considering they don't even have a finished draft of the script and they need an animation studio, probably also a new animation program and redoing all the models, I'd say it will come out in 2028 or 2029 at the latest.
Of course, they could also simply transfer the pre-made models to the new animation program (if they also bought the 3D models and not just the IP).
But considering that Team RWBY will have new designs, they'll obviously have to redo the designs from scratch, because some idiot still refuses to do nude models and insists that all the clothing be part of the design.
