The comic follows the premise of companies treating people as advertisement in exchange for sponsoring healthcare. The premise is a sort of thing sci-fi "what if". It also kinda feels like something you might see as background detail in a cyberpunk setting.

The comic explores the results of that premise in an absurdist way. You have a man who has literally been branded with a nike logo and a child who is named after megacorps. The comic portrays these things in a silly way, but they could also have been taken in a darker fashion.


I know I've seen similar themes explored more seriously in fiction elsewhere, but I'm drawing a blank. I'm pretty sure there's a book or series where children had use the names of companies that owned them as a last names, but I forget what the book was called.
