>>149337033>Also these threads and comic are dead as fuck without Mike or someone doing "something" huh?I can't complain about that too much in itself, since I keep saying this comic needs more b-plots and downtime. But it's sabotaging that by having the b-plot ALSO be assholes making everyone else miserable and getting away with it. I just want a few short interlude slice-of-life chapters. Mike playing videogames with Sue and Abbey, or embarrassing Haley by talking to Abbey while he's sitting at Jasmine's table. Y'know, something that would make them feel like actual friends with common interests.
I think that's fundamentally what's missing most from modern BCB. It was always melodramatic, but the ratio of drama to slice-of-life was better, and made the characters much more sympathetic and likeable.
>>149347857I don't even want Lucy to get diagnosed with anything, necessarily. I just want to see her actually confront the fact that her knee-jerk paranoid hostility is insane, unwarranted, and damaging. Lucy snapping at Sue, then realizing she's fucked up, would be a good way to prompt that epiphany. There were brief hints of it when Lucy was setting up Paisy, with her motive being guilt over snapping at Paulo (again) and her feeling put out when she realized he was still mad. But then we were distracted by the noneuclidean geometry of the burgertron and the fact that Paisy fucking sucks.
