Considering how much you guys love comics and cartoons, you ARE making your own, right?
You're not just consumers, are you?

I don't have the talent nor the patience to make my own cartoon, I do like to daydream about it though I guess.

I could make the time to work on my comics.
It's easy to think "oh, I'm too busy. I have other things to do." And then I spend 6 hours posting here.

I'm a writer. A pretty good one, at that: I've gotten some short stories and some poems published under my own name.

But I can't draw. I've always thought it would be fun to team up with an artist to work on a comic or something, but I don't know how you go about finding such people. Not people who are willing to work for free, alongside me, until we hit it big.

That's literally me. I can write, but I can't draw. I wrote out a huge plot for a comic when I was in my late teens then nearly died and life and health issues got in the way, now I'm a middle aged man and has no skills or anything.

I have no creative cells in my body. Anything I would attempt to produce, aside from being extremely poor quality, would also be very derivative.

Writers who wish they could draw a dime a dozen. You've got to publish some good shit or have good connections to get a good artist to work with you.

Sorta. I've been building a world that I've been tooling around with for most of my life, and making projects with its characters, but I haven't quite had that "big, focused project" with it yet, even after writing a novella to detail the main story's beginning. I'm hoping the game I'm working on can help get an audience but it's pretty slow going

Your story will never be as bad as Lightbringer. There hasn't been a webcomic that surpassed Lightbringer in 20 years.

Artist here. These kinds of projects are dying because audiences now have decided that destroying and humiliating artists is more fun than their art. It was kind of a flawed arrangement to begin with, but genius artists making entertainment for stupid normalfags who hate them is not functional in the current commercial system, let alone doing any of it for free.

Honest to Hypnos, the whole clusterfuck with Linkara is hard to penetrate for me. I know chan culture is kind of getting to the point where some of us are trying to advance beyond the dichotomy of Le Normalfags Versus Le Nerds in pursuit of something more meaningful, so I guess now is a good time to admit that I didn't actually think someone like Linkara was actually capable of making something as bad as The Lightbringer by accident. Not to imply he's being ironic, I've just always felt that those kinds of comics usually come from people that I would consider legitimately mentally handicapped. Linkara is a stock proto-internet nerd. Not really a genius like Andrew Hussie, but not stupid. It's confusing.

Everyone creates in their own way. Some reproduce, some innovate, some curate and catalog, some review and critique. As long as you're doing something other than mindlessly staring, you're cool.

It's been so, so many years since I read Lightbringer, but unless I'm remembering wrong, the story wasn't bad because it had crippling structural problems or colossal plotholes, it was bad because it was pretentious as fuck and the dialogues inevitably turned into glorified rants against strawmen. You don't need to be dumb to make something like that, just really full of himself with no one around to ground you.

I mean I got a couple ideas for some comics, books, and games. You know, the usual daydream stuff.
I'm not really talented at art or programming and get discouraged by my lack of progress often to the point where I don't do anything for so long I regress back to nothing so it's probably not gonna happen.
It's also probably not gonna happen because I don't know how to write or have a "theme" in mind for them, I've just written outlines of what I think would be cool and fun to read personally.

Cartoons by consensus never make anything. I learned this during a fan animation project. There were a hundred writers and only a handful of artists. I finally decided to animate, write, and direct a short myself just to make something happen. Had some help with the voice actors and other artists. That was the only thing our group ever did. Either team up with just one other person or pay a team. You're not getting anything done more complex than an E3 squilliam montage around here.
