Murder Drones is officially being adapted into a Graphic Novel, endorsed by Glitch.

Apparently it's going to be just a retelling of the aninated series, but in comic format.
What do you think of this? Do you think it'll make the series easier for some people to understand due to the reading medium or do you think a straight re-telling of the story is unneeded and they should have done a prequel / sequel comic instead?

I'm happy that we are getting comics.
That's a medium that I prefer to consume than well... animation. I'm skeptical rn if this retelling the whole thing and some of Liam's charm gets lost in translation.
I hope glitch wrangles the writer enough to keep it faithful, or a huge amount of notes about the style or setting from Liam himself.

Been getting on my grip to draw traditional more often and auugh. It has been fun. But my only fun comes drawing during the process, the end result becomes detaching and I don't want to keep it on my hands

Since it's apparently just going to be adapting the series into web-comic form, I doubt they're going to do anything drastic and lose any of Liam's charm honestly. It also opens up the possibility of future official comic series involving Murder Drones, if this does well enough.

Also, when this eventually does come out we can Storytime the comic here on /co/ and I think it'll be nice for some Comics-onlyfags to find out what Murder Drones is about.

The real limit is how much are you willing to cram your story in a 22-min format, there are details that will be lost by the spectator or the message straight up does not exist

With comics, there isn't really that issue, personally. The issues of pacing can still exist, but the advantage is that you are not limited by time, but on the number of pages and panels.

But eh, I prefer reading comics because I like looking at inking techniques, B/W comics are the best. (One of my favorite comic artists is Trino)

But really it all comes down to how good can you write and manage scripts.

I disagree that comics are better than animation. From my perspective comics are like stills from an animation with frames missing inbetween. You have to imagine the things happening between panels. Which isn't an issue for western comics, but in manga it can get confusing. Plus there are things you can't represent without animation. Like pulsing lights or the playful surface of the sea. Gasses and rolling mists and smokes from fires don't have the same menace when you don't see them slowly advancing either.
Oh and animation almost always goes hand in hand with music and voices. Two very important conveyors of emotion. The death of Littlefoot's mom wouldn't hit the same without the strain in her final words communicating that she is using the last of her strength.

Because you have to simplify and clean up the designs for the animators. I agree but I want to mention Mordillo and Max by Bara. The source material was simple already, so the animations look like the comics but set in motion. And then there's the Asterix movies of the 80s that were more detailed than the comics themselves.

There is a general timeline of events. Sure no direct timeframes are really stated, the only date given completely is the year 3071 and the other year where Cabin Fever was founded.

Drones have no hatches or ports on their designs, so if they eat, where does it go except for being fed into the core (smth non solverhosts should be capable of too)?

That's the image I was mentioning, and the image is pretty clearly demonstrating that it's the concept art for the Solver Hosts AI cores, NOT every Worker Drones' AI core.

The Solver manifests through the AI code itself, we are literally shown code afflicted with The Solver's influence in Episode 6 with the symbol being visible in completely fucked scrambled code. The singularity, and all the flesh, comes in as a result of the AI being afflicted by The Solver's touch.
The Absolute Solver reached out and made contact with Cyn when the drone came back from death, leaching into the AI's code itself.

May head canon and point exactly. It just makes sense, Drones and AI takes a lot of power. It would also explain why JcJenson is so autistic about proper disposal as they know what's inside and what can happen.

They have no visible ports and we have no documentation about them ever being fed with humanity still around or any signs of dronekibble. A singularity in every core makes sense since it deepens the inherent vulnerability and connection of drones towards AS, besides technical issues like where the AI is housed in normal and possibly singularityless drones, perhaps they have normal electronics in there which get replaced by AI? This seems unlikely due to the core's weird spherical design but isn't impossible.

This is true, and I think its on purpose. I don't think its crucial to the plot. It does raise an interesting question. All the WDs killed, are they considered, properly disposed of? I mean they were killed by Disassembly drones, who are part disassembly machines. Because if not, well a good chunk of the more put apart drones might reboot as zombies. Some may even be possessed by some Absolute Solver like Eldrage being, tho I think AS doesn't really want that so I lean more towards the, they can't reboots side.
