Remember the good days when people all collectively agree that new spongebob was inferior to classic spongebob in every way possible? what the fuck happened that split up the damn community so bad?

I think pre-movie Spongebobfags have to be the whiniest most insufferable strain of Nostalgiatards in the history of every media ever. I have never seen anyone else in any facet of entertainment whine about so many things for so long and even literally just make up random things to gripe and moan about.

You could search any popular, long running franchise in the entire world and would be hard pressed to find a large group of people this autistic about something they liked as a kid that got "ruined" later on. And I challenge anyone reading this to actually go and look because I know I'm right.

I could make an entire essay analyzing the many mental issues a lot of old spongebob fans seem to have and why no other fans of long-running series seems to whine about shit like title fonts, background characters having a "lack of character", or continuity issues, but I honestly just want to know what causes this.

They only like the new seasons because it looks like Ren and Stimpy. Try asking them what they like about the new episodes and they'll tell you the animation is good and nothing else.

No, I always liked Season 4 for the most part aside from a few episodes and thought it was at least on par with Season 3 (which is a little overrated imo). Season 5 was where the real decline started. This is not just nostalgia, I thought this as a kid too.

The animation looks good for a modern cartoon, but the biggest flaw is how style over substance modern SB is. Honestly, the best post-movie season was season 11, tons of banger episodes and a great balance between good animation and good writing, it’s likely because Hillenburg returned to work on the show around that time before his passing. After season 11 SpongeBobs writing gradually worsened.

Sure the animation and art direction is great and experimental, but it’s sad to see how Spumco-inspired animators are regulated to the SpongeBob mines cause no other cartoon these days has the budget to allow for that kind of style. If you want to know what modern SpongeBob looks like without the good animation then look no further than to Kamp Coral, which is unironically worse than the Paul Tibbitt era episodes.

ChefBob, Squid Noir, Krabby Patty Creature Feature, Karen’s Virus, Cuddle E Hugs, I also felt like My Leg was a great episode, but unfortunately that was the episode that killed the whole running gag and made it less funny.
Season 10 had a couple good episodes too, Mimic Madness, Feral Friends, Krusty Katering, that season basically felt like a transitional point between the Tibbit era and Waller era

Spongebob is only fractured by generations growing up with different eras of the show. Sonic is fractured by not only that, but also different shows, different mediums, different games. Even within each subgroup, there are divides. Which Adventure game is better. Is Boom better than Prime. AotSH vs SatAM. IDW vs Archie. There will never be a franchise as splintered and hostile to one another as Sonic.

When you think about it, compared to any other longrunning cartoons, SpongeBob probably had the least severe seasonal rot, the worst of the Tibbitt seasons can at least be enjoyed by some people, I actually find the so called "Squidward torture porn" kinda funny, and the worst of the Waller seasons at least have great animation to admire and have their fans.

We should probably also mention that the animation was at its worse during that period, seasons 1-4 looked great, seasons 11-present look great, season 9 is what that stiff ass TibbittBob style looks like in HD, and it looks like ass, honestly while the modern wacky style isn’t my favorite for the show this is the exact reason why I’m thankful for the animation change.

Why is it that modern SpongeBobs animation looks great but the newer movies look like shit? The Sandy movie was shit visually, the Plankton movie looked a bit better but that’s not saying much, and the upcoming Flying Dutchman movie looks like bland slop, say what you want about Sponge on the Run but at least that film had a pretty neat style.

Is it because the animators on the show are younger and want to have fun on their job more while the movies are handled by different crews trained in the modern industry to animate as on-model as possible?

Both are just repeating phases that every other generation before them went through.
That said, if I had to pick one, I'd say the young people/newfags are worse because every single time, without fail, they will grow into the old people/oldfags that they used to complain about.
The true answer is that they're actually the same people, just temporally skewed from each other.

Tibbitt SpongeBob was hated by tons of people back then, normies simply hated it cause it felt more like a generic kids cartoon than SpongeBob, cartoon reviewers on the other hand have an amplified autistic love for SpongeBob. They hated it for "Squidward Torture Porn", Patrick being mean-spirited, "gross stuff", they acted as if the characters were real people and actively clamored for the people working on it to be blacklisted from the entertainment industry all cause they wrote a cartoon they didn’t like, peak lunacy. Sure more people online liking the Tibbitt era now is a result of younger zoomers who watched it having grown up, but if I’m being honest I feel like cartoon critics who ranted about it being fucking retarded is another reason.

and Mr. Enter thought this joke was teaching children that lesson, not getting the fact that it’s a fucking joke. Why did I ever watch this retard when I was younger?

Honestly I have a strange attachment towards Enter, he’s improved so much over the years but still has big fuckups every know and then like the whole Turning Red 9/11 stuff, but he’s recently exposed a pedo, cleared up the SaberSpark drama, like I always watch new videos of his cause his life fascinates me, he’s like an anti-lolcow.

Cartoon critics in general are a joke, sure more professional critics like LS Mark and SaberSpark are at least watchable and liked by many, but the circle of people influenced by Mr. Enter are whole new breed of autists like:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6Iy6_tNythw

Why else do you think Mr. Enter attracted tons of autists on his team, the pedo Star Giant that he thankfully fired, the retard Crimson Mayhem that has the shittiest Twitter takes ever, he made himself an autism magnet

Simpsons is up there I think
Actually nevermind cause Simpsons fans who haven't watched the show in years don't use Matt Groening's dead corpse as a soapbox for why their baby show for babies is bad now

Lots of creative fags cut their teeth on SpongeBob and like all art people they think their shit doesn't stink when it in fact does. Just look at who boards most modern seasons and you'll get why.

What the hell are you even going to talk about with SpongeBob, he's kind of SpongeBob I mean that's really nothing to say. There's an entire community of people and what the hell would they even talk about SpongeBob funny voice, I mean it's not a very interesting character it's a character for use in gags and jokes. I think bugs Bunny has more of a personality.

I stopped watching that guy after I realized the only thing I liked about him was how he'd cover obscure cartoons. His actual coverage was often poorly researched and even more poorly presented, so I bailed and never looked back.

It is cool they are seeing and paying attention to what people are saying now. 2009 had some of the worst episodes and seemed like they were cheaply phoning it in with torture episodes like summer job, boating buddies and keep bikini bottom beautiful. I thought it started to get a little better starting in 2011 though and they seem to be able to push the limit with things like this

One of the many reasons why I believe, as flawed as the Waller era is, is an improvement upon the Tibbitt era.

Tibbitt episodes scream "writers out of touch with their fanbase who aren’t having fun on their jobs"
