There's logic to it in certain situations. You can tell Dr. Mrs. The Monarch is voiced by a man, but she sounds enough like a woman that smoked 50 packs a day and absolutely fucked her larynx beyond repair that it's not a stretch to buy into it. Props to John Roberts because Linda Belcher doesn't sound like a man all, she sounds like a nasally Jersey mom and most people who aren't very familiar with the show are pretty surprised to find a guy is voicing her. The Butt Witch, on the other hand, is just straight up Matt Berry but she's the pure manifestation of puberty so having a deep voice both makes thematic sense and is pretty fucking funny since Matt isn't even trying to do a falsetto (and it helps that his voice is just plain ear candy to begin with).

In all three cases, the voice being done by a man doesn't detract from the sexiness of the woman because each is entirely appropriate for what they were going for. Sheila did smoke 50 packs a day and fucked up her larynx, Linda is a nasally mom originally from Jersey, and BW is a shamefully lustful shape-shifting puberty demon so of course Matt Berry.

Like look at this example. Not a single article of clothes is from the medieval period, besides maybe the gloves.
The general undershirt is a mishmash of late 16th and 17th century clothes.
The boots are a mix of styles from the 17th and 18th century. The coat is from the 19th century with the pants from the fucking 20th century!
I know it's probably a stupid thing to get annoyed at in the grand scheme of things, but the fact that they raided a historical closet to make this miss matched get-up and somehow missed 1000 years of history, just feels mind boggling to me.

I didn't find the companions that annoying but I can understand how someone would find them annoying. Really what butt blasts me is how they're written. Shadowheart feels like a naive girl next door, and while the naive shit makes sense, she's supposed to be the cleric of a cruel and secretive goddess. She's supposed to be Shar's chosen, trained to be the first a new line of dark justiciers, and she just...doesn't seem like someone who was raised to do that. you know, except for the instances where she flips into a completely different character. Karlach just seems like a kid and not someone who was press ganged into 10 years of war, you don't just shrug that shit off. I don't MIND big kid who wants to smash shit, mind you, I just wish her backstory jived better with how she acts. Gale is...boring. Incredibly boring. This man was supposed to be boinking Mystra? Come on. I don't mind Wyll as much, he's just incredibly stupid, and a little boring. Laezel is actively the most annoying because she's just a straight up bitch and I refused to engage with her. Which leaves camp gay vampire who's actually...cool? Astarion is probably the most fun companion to have around. it helps that when he talks about escaping his vampire sire he puts some fucking emotion into and seems actually invested. Karlach makes the whole enslaved by Zariel thing sound more like an inconvenience, and Wyll doesn't seem nearly as invested in escaping Mizora as you'd expect. It's pretty wild how much a weak point the companions are all things considered, hell, most of the NPCs seem to be better.
