The story actually seems very specific wrt dates, this is August 1978 so I'm not sure any of those movies would have been showing then. They could however have seen Debbie Does Dallas.

And that's it, ride ends here. There are two other books (one even came out this month so I don't think the series is over yet) but this is as far as I can go. No rips, scans, Internet Archive rentals, or even potato quality pdfs.

That's the thing that kinda gets me, I dunno which I prefer. On one hand, she is IRL and in-universe several decades older than the rest of the characters, so her being a teacher would be a nice cap off to her character, but on the other, Sunny is a very sweet girl and I'd like to see how she'd bounce off the other, "rougher-edged" Scholastic protagonists. Just the fact that she's from the 70's has a lot of potential.

I see no particular reason why Sunny Lewin isn't in the group. She fits perfectly fine. I think it might be due to popularity. However, that's debatable because Amelia was big but became niche over the years. However, Amelia still got represented. Granted, Amelia Rules has over 20 years of advantage since its release date of June 6, 2001.
