I'm enjoying this way more than I thought I would. Finished Episode 3.
Like the first episode is the weakest so far because due to the plot it had to be a HANK IPAD episode, but I thought the character moments in Episode 2 and 3 were very strong. Some jokes are kinda miss but I caught myself laughing quite a few times too.
The only character that feels iffy is Dale, though, and this feels like cope, but I would thinking it feels character appropriate that he'd become more unhinged if Hank wasn't there to put him in his place whenever he needed to.

It has been a while since I watched the older seasons, but I feel he's a bigger creep towards her in this season than in any of the previous season.

Good character changes:
-Hank is trying to be more tolerable of people that he cares for and trusting them, even if he's right in the end.
-Boomhauer is pretty much a god that everyone loves and truly cares for his childs well being.
-Bobby denies all modern dating practices and PC stuff, works hard and just wants to bond with people he cares about.
-Joseph, its fucking hilarious that he thinks he's a White man.
-Emilieo is a great addition, how supporting characters should be written.
-Peggy is probably the greatest improvement, she becomes less egotistical and just wants the support of Hank and Bobby in her old age. She's also a great Mother figure to Connie.
-Good Hank just wanted a Father figure and found it it Hank.
-Bobby's vegan girlfriend was actually kinda interesting and was a good plot device to move Bobby forward.

There's a difference between a generally aggravating episode like dusty bones and guilt-trip grandma, and shit inspired by internet brainrot social commentary about sexism and incel misogyny that no one wants to see in KoTH. For god's sake man you have the betamale drawing directly used in an episode of King of the Hill now, no one fucking wanted this, this is the kind of shit you'd see in a greentext about what would happen if the show ever came back. Why are people trying to handwave such a blatant example of why this show shouldn't be brought into the modern day by equating it with "dude remember the cat episode, KoTH always had misses." That's not the point anyone is making about it. It's not that the show has a bad episode, it's that they just did this type of story and commentary specifically.
