I kind of like the idea of John Redcorn eventually helping Dale with Bounty Hunting as a sneaky way to try to get closer to Joseph and Dale thinking of him as an "Indian tracker." He doesn't need to, because he's made enough money off of his children's entertainment to reitire, but he ends up having fun with Dale. I think Buck should have just recently died and left Strickland to Hank, which is what sparks his move back to Texas. Hank being retired is a fun idea, but if we're only jumping like 10 years into the future Hank is only in his 50's and I think he's one of those guys that wouldn't feel right retiring early. Seeing him finally run Strickland here and there would be fun and satisfying, plus having Buck's job gives him the freedom to leave at his leisure to pursue other plots.

I don't want Tilly to have passed away yet, though it would make sense. But while her age isn't explicitly canon, even the oldest estimates would still place her in her 80's which is doable. Maybe she could still be around even if she doesn't do much.

Possible plot point: If Laoma is still alive maybe her and Bill get together to live out the rest of her golden years at some point in the series.

I can see how if I was different or some horrible tragedy struck me I could end up Bill-like, but thankfully that's something that's off the table for me and I still think it's dumb. Bill, while he has his frustrating or creepy moments played for comedy, is a good guy with a good heart and a lot of potential as was shown MULTIPLE times. Yeah, I agree they should have recast. The only thing I saw Judge say about Luanne in an interview is to explain that in the original show they already reduced her role due to Brittany Murphy’s availability. I will always feel like he doesn’t really like the character (who was Daniels’ idea), but in any case they should have acknowledged her existence.

In general my biggest beef with the revival is how all the broad comedy side of the show has been downplayed. That’s partly because most of the characters whose VAs are dead or recast happened to be the broadest (Luanne, Dale, Kahn, Cotton) but Judge seems to prefer the gentle realistic side of the show and was known not to like wackier ideas like Bill stealing a tank.

People forget that when the show was in its prime there were a lot of wacky stories like Hank accidentally becoming a 70s stereotype pimp or buying crack to use as fish bait or the whole firefighter episode, which was KotH showing they could do a crazy slapstick episode if they wanted. That made for variety and helped the more realistic episodes by contrast.

We need more of that in the mix and we’ll never get it no matter how long the revival runs.

It's easy to overlook while the show's going on, but yeah, I would say she's temperamental in hindsight. Her gravitating towards Joseph during the cave episode, the puberty episode where they kiss and try to "run away" (even if Bobby kind of grossed her out beforehand) and a couple of other things I can't quite recall. I will say if they had done an episode where they got back together and then were on good terms afterwards it could have all been overlooked as dumb kid stuff, but given the context of them never getting back together/the season 14 stuff it paints a bad light.
