/r9k/ - Leftist Thread

Are you religious? What exactly are you getting at by asking that here? I ask because your question in the context of this thread sounds a lot like a line of argument I've heard religious people use to say that without god as an intrinsic source for morality people are just immoral baseless heathens. Which is a shitty argument in two ways:
One, it implies an exclusivity between leftist ideals and religious faith that isn't true. You can want society to be more cooperative and still be religious.
>suddenly backtrack and say there isn't and that life is ultimately meaningless
I wouldn't call it back tracking because saying that there isn't "objective" morality isn't the same as saying there isn't any morality. Sounds like you're hearing a pretty common absurdist nihilist pathway to the conclusion that the only morality in life is that which we make and interrogate for ourselves. Which, if you ask me, sounds more rigorous than just taking your given holy book's word for it.
What do you think Anon, am I straw-manning any harder here than you just were?

>Why would anything good ever happen
>Dat picrelated.
My brother in 4chan posting, do you know what that is an image of?
Being a slightly tech savvy, terminally online weirdo has never been more empowering. Buy a 3d printer, learn some modeling, and you can make the good things happen.

Have you considered talking to someone, anon? Shrinks are actually pretty cheap these days if you do sites like Sondermind. Take it from me, just having someone to vent to for an hour a week can make a world of difference. You'd certainly be better off talking to an actual professional than rolling the dice with the insects here on a mechanical Polynesian pickle ball strategy exchange

Any Buddhist who says they actively worship Siddhartha Guatama as a divine being are either a liar, an idiot, or both. They revere him as a spiritual teacher and guide on how to break out of the cycle of existence, but they dont view him as an actual god. If anything, they actively acknowledge the existence of God or God's, and that enlightenment is just another path to approach Him. If anything, nirvana is a way for you to approach God on more or less equal terms, since one could argue that you've awakened to the divine nature inherent to all living beings. That may come off as blasphemy to some, but I'd argue a God that is completely unapproachable isn't one worthy of worship to begin with

/sp/ - the dutch are the worst!
Anonymous Netherlands No.149824787
the dutch are the worst!
My half dutch/half English colleague told me a couple things:

> 1. dutch people are the worst as they all jump on the bandwagon when an athlete does well and tune out when are not longer successful
> 2. dutch people do not show any dedication towards a sport, just follow what is popular
> 3. dutch people have no true or genuine sporting heritage
> 4. dutch people should not show themselves on the international stage
> 5. the netherlands is a non-country with no culture or history

Dutch people do this for every sport, once someone shows promise or is winning, people all jump on the bandwagon.

Once the honeymoon is over everyone bails and disappears.
I wish my country had fans who were dedicated and stick with it through thick and thin.

I feel utter embarrassment when I see anything dutch on any form of media. Seeing that “left, right” nonsense at Euro 2024 was utterly cringeworthy.

Why can’t dutch people behave sophisticated, educated and well mannered people. Why can’t dutch people be less visible in the world and give space of marginalised countries.

Bush era policy was actually put in place to address creepy shit exactly like that. US citizens can be prosecuted under US law if they travel for sex crime purposes, including anything that would count as a sex crime in the US. Look up the PROTECT Act of 2003 ya creeps.

Before you get going be honest about your circumstances whatever they are:
Privacy: do you have anywhere you can actually be alone with someone? Can you afford a decent restaurant, or at least a couple hours at a nice cafe? If there's no bedroom for you to go back to, then it's not fair to expect that of them.
Presentation: No matter your looks a little personal grooming goes a long way. You don't need damn tux, but the cleanest most flattering clothes you have, yes. Start there.
Presumptions: What are you actually trying to do here? What do you want? Just wanna fuck? Looking for the one? Something in between like most people? Figure it out, and say that early.

Major first step is simply looking in a context where that's appropriate or normal. I.E. Bars, clubs, dating apps, leisure activities where the bare minimum of some spare time is expected. (don't bother people at work)
Next step is not wasting your time or theirs, don't pursue people who say explicitly they're not interested. If someone actually acts like they're picking up what you're putting down, that's when you start wasting your own time without obligation to them. The most direct approach that respects everyone's time and dignity most is to simply offer your own number (or whatever way to contact you), put the ball in their court, and walk away. If they liked what they saw, you'll hear back. Either way you find out without imposing.

Last, have fun dummy. Try to have a good time, see how they have a good time. Take an interest in them and their hobbies. If you don't know how to do anything you like together it's not worth it.

>the episode where Hank hurts his back and goes to yoga classes with Johnny Depp as the insane instructor
>by the end he's happy to ditch the guy and his studio, but keeps doing the actual yoga routines because he finds they legitimately help him
>even starts teaching them to fellow Strickland employees, giving them Texan themed names, to boot
Hank's always been the guy who cuts through all the bullshit of life and utilizes what actually works for him or the situation at hand. If it works, it's another tool on his belt he can use, and if it doesn't, he simply dismisses it.
