its weird peple didnt want girls to know about a normal biological prossesa. Girls can get their period as young as 8 without it being a real problem for her medically. A girl isnt too young to know about something that will effect her for half her life and who even knows when it might come up. It's gross yes but its just as gross as shitting and everyone has to learn how to wipe their ass propaly.

>Hey, Sally, in a few years from now, you're gonna start bleeding from your snatch and feel like shit once a month. That's a normal, biological process, just like how your metabolism will go a decade or two after that and you start feeling tired and in pain and have trouble doing things you used to enjoy. Now, about our family's medical history and what that means for you...

I learned from an educational video in 4th grade health class that was sponsored by Always brand pads. It later turned out I was allergic to some component in the Always brand pads that contained fragrance. Turns out feminine pads are not legally compelled to list their ingredients/materials, so I never did figure out exactly what it was. But it made my asshole itchy as fuck and for the first couple cycles I had no idea why, and I was too embarrassed to tell anyone. It ruined a field trip to the science museum because I got yelled at when I kept running off to go to the bathroom. I live in fear that I will one day again come in contact with whatever those pads were made out of and get itchy again. Fuck Always.

I learned what a period was for the first time at 8 or 9 because of some fictional book aimed at preteen girls mentioning a girl knowing she got her first period because she saw blood in her underwear. I also had a friend the same age as me who apparently got hers pretty early because around the same time she asked if I knew what a period was, and based on that book I was able to answer. So from there I probably realized it'd eventually happen to me.
Didn't learn the specific details of how a period works until I was in like 5th grade and they gave out sex ed pamphlets. I think I learned about it sort of late, but then it didn't matter because I only got it for the first time at 13 for a few months, lost it for a while, and didn't start regularly bleeding again until about 15. So if anything I was overprepared for it when I did get it because I'd been waiting for years for it to either start or come back

>girl watches a movie where the MC goes through an embarrassing experience and thus, experiences embarrassment
>viewer girl relates the way she was intended to relate, and also feels a level of embarrassment, the feeling she is supposed to feel in that moment
>this is somehow Bad
Like, I sorta get that people watch movies for entertainment, and sometimes they feel a little bad about getting negative emotions that they werenโt expecting out of their entertainment. But Iโm also really sick of reviews that say โthis movie made me/my kid feel anything at all aside from pure joy, and that scares and confuses me. Obviously this means that something is wrong with the movie and not that we are emotionally immature and incapable of addressing our own feelings.โ
Embarrassment is a perfectly normal and natural feeling and it is okay for kids to experience it a little bit so that they can learn and grow. Pixar made two other movies about why feelings aside from happiness are useful.
It is fine to be in the same room as your dad while a movie that has a scene with pads in it shows on the screen, and to become aware that he knows you menstruate. That is a growing up kinda experience. The ultimate message of Turning Red was meant to be that that is okay and you donโt need to be ashamed of your body.

According to the NIH 8 is the low end of normal. Not common but it is within normal range and therefore girl should know it will happen by that age so if she is in that minority that starts early it won't surprise her. Average is 10 so girl needs to know by 8 because it will happen soon and, again, you don't want it being a surprise

>Eventually, Mei "sells" herself to her bully, Tyler (Tristan Allerick Chen), for his birthday party. It's an unpleasant arrangement that ends with Tyler saying, "You want your money? Get your butt down here, now." He later yells about her "psycho mom" and "creepy temple" before Mei pounces on him with possibly murderous intentions. Ming, you know, is so close to getting it when she accuses Mei's friends of using her. She's made to be the villain--and she is, for the bulk of the film--but she's not wrong in this moment. Mei, the pariah, has found acceptance through the minstrelsy of her culture, and that's as heartbreaking as it is common. Ming is reacting against the casting of her daughter in the other Asian female trope in the west: the prostitute.
>>149803010
Now that we think about it, shouldn't the movie have included 9/11?
It would've made everything more grounded to the period, but it would've also played well into the themes of the movie, as the shock from 9/11 was very much akin to the United States, as a nation, experiencing its first period?

Like you can teach it in a factual and natural manner, knowing how babby is formed isnโt going to turn them into sluts. And then these are the same kind of parents who hand their kids tablets and smartphones so their knowledge of sex probably comes directly from seeing online porn instead of a parent or teacher. They should have alluded to the post-9/11 hysteria since the film is clearly set roughly seven months after the attacks. The shock had worn off and the paranoia had fully set in.
>>149813120
Dozens of Canadians died in the attacks. Several thousand Americans were trapped in Canada for a number of weeks after dozens of flights were diverted to Canadian airports after US airspace was ordered closed. Canada had the third-largest contingent of troops sent to Afghanistan in response to the attacks.
To have a movie set in early-2002 without any allusion to 9/11 is like a movie set in 1940 without any reference to WWII or 1968 without any reference to the Vietnam War or MLK/RFK's assassination. You're just engaging in pure intellectual dishonesty at that point.

With how teen girls dress nowadays, I don't know how boys survive. Literally anything gets your dick hard at that age. I would have needed to invest in a cock cage.

It's difficult when said puberty makes itself known turning her into a mini adult looks wise. Ppl think my niece is like 23, but she's 13 with huge boobs. You can't control stuff like that, it happens. Best Breast you can do is get them accustomed and see what they think. She thinks it's cool she's "an adult", she handles herself fine, but I keep telling her she might look older, she is still a dumb kid and needs to really think things through.
She dresses like someone trying to fit into their old clothes 10 years later, it's hilarious. Her mom really needs to get her properly fitted and stop buying her damn "they fit ok" Walmart bras.

Reminds me of the Chesire Murders. A guy spotted two women at a supermarket and stalked them to their home because he was attracted to the one on the right.
He raped and killed her. When the police told him she was actually 11, dude lost it. He swore up and down he thought she was an older teen.
Funnily, he killed but didn't rape the 17-year-old sister who looked 30.

Yeah, I look back at myself at 18 and man, I looked young but maybe early 20s. Some kids look baby as fuck at 18, looking like 12 yr olds. It's quite a thing when something like puberty makes you look way older, younger. Braces too, if I see them, I just assume they are 14 and in 9th grade because every girl i swear had braces at that time. My sisters, my cousins, no one over 18.

I'm not that anon but I'm American and 5th grade is about when I learned exactly how sex worked. Like it kind of works in stages-- as a little kid i got that women get pregnant and give birth, I don't remember ever not knowing that. A little older than that I got that sex was a thing that exists and was hinted at on TV and stuff, but didn't get how the exact mechanics worked. I did get that sex was how pregnancy started and also, from the shit I watched, that men can get cucked and not necessarily know if a kid is theirs.
But it was only in 5th grade that I specifically learned in detail "penis goes in vagina" and felt like an idiot for not thinking of it sooner because that's so obvious. Like I'd seen sex scenes on TV etc. but just never thought till then exactly what was going on.
Anyway, point I'm making is that anon didn't necessarily go from "thinking the stork brings babies" to knowing about sex years later; like it's possible to get that sex is a thing that exists but just not think about exactly how it works until it's directly taught. Maybe I was just an incurious kid but I didn't feel any need to know more beyond "women get pregnant and have babies" and then once I was 10/11 and starting to see references to sex in media and wonder what exactly it involved, I got my answer.

My school was smaller so we were never separate outside of some technical stuff. Towards my final years, because half the time people wouldn't even have to get into uniform [and most of the girls picked shorts 1-2 sizes too small so they were basically pained onto their asses] so whenever they had to do squats or the like it was pretty much a free show. Days with jumping jacks on the roster too, bunch of bouncing small town farm girls with fat tits.
Pretty sure the gym teachers did it on purpose, one of them was a fat lesbian and the other married one of the girls a few years ahead of us the moment she graduated and had been fucking her in his office for years prior to that.

Depends on where you live. I live Scandinavia and frankly can't remember a time where I did NOT know how reproduction works. I recall sex ed in school as early as first or second grade (although it was focused more on the pregnancy and birth than the intercourse, but that might just be my faulty memory). Another thing that de-stigmatised it was the fact that one of the most popular monthly magazines for kids and teens has a section where readers send in letters with questions regarding puberty, meaning you frequently saw reassuring paragraphs written by a nurse that went something like "don't worry, it's completely normal that your body does X, and here is why". That being said, I remember being extremely sad and crying about it at age 12 because I thought my childhood was over and I didn't want to be an adult. :(

Funny thing about Turning Red is that it almost implies that Mei didn't get her period during the story because she actually had the panda transformation instead. Also her mother says it's "too soon" and that really doesn't make sense.

Also being American, I am circumcised, and I'm not entirely sure when I realized that. Remember reading a Benjamin Spock book at about age 10 that described circumcision as the most common thing in America and that befuddled me. Definitely wish I wasn't cut. The panda is never a metaphor. It's only a metaphor to coomers and pervs who think it means sex. The panda is literally just that: Mei's Panda form. Nothing to do with her period or vagina. In fact, by the end of the movie she still hasn't had a period yet.

Life as a woman is a giant L. I know that women have that magical ability they are born with where they can get infinite sex with 0 effort or requirements just by existing, but they don't even value that, and they can only get it from the guys they are attracted to (Chad) from like highschool to their late 20s/early 30s, then he doesn't wanna bang her anymore. Now lets talk about all the other ways life is one giant L for women:
>smaller
>slower
>weaker
>cant turn their emotions off, emotional (not logical) thing is their default factory setting
>struggles with spatial reasoning
>struggles with thinking about the past or the future
>tunnel vision on the present moment
>has a narrow window of opportunity to breed and then they become permanently sterile
>periods
>the shit tier experience of child birth
>their cells age faster
>their entire biological and cultural/social purpose is to be a baby machine and baby sitter
>they go crazy if they cant do this eventually (they have an early and hard time limit)
>if chad wont give it to them then they feel "forced" to "settle" for the guys they always friend zoned
>they scratch the baby itch but resent him for not being chad
>men only tolerate them because we need their holes wrapped around our cocks or because some men want kids
>men openly admit other men make superior friends
>women dont even really like each other, they are notorious for being bitchy catty and gossipy towards one another
>all female solidarity goes out the window in the presence of chad, then they fight each other (in the social domain) over who gets to bend over for him
>women do not understand male hobbies and struggle to derive any enjoyment from them
>women need to socialize constantly or else they get crippling depression and identity fragmentation
On and on and on and on. Life as a woman is a giant loss. I am SO glad I was born as a man. I can get pussy. Women struggle to get happiness. GGNORE.
