I am enjoying this a lot but you can tell this thing was one of the cartoons that helped solidify in stone the kind of tone and jokes and whatnot for the terrible adult cartoons nowdays

how much entertainment is out there that is retroactively made shitty because of future abuse of tropes/tone/setting/etc

I don't know if Ugly Americans was really influential enough to have contributed to that

This was the only Urban Fantasy setting I've seen that wasn't extremely lame like Onward or that one Netflix movie about Orc racism.

>one Netflix movie about Orc racism.
Bright. It could have been so much better but they decided to make trash.

I wouldnโ€™t blame it for that. I see this sort of criticism used for many works across different types of media and it seems unfair. If someone makes a shitty shit that reuses things from a better show I would blame that show and its creators not the other show. Itโ€™s like blaming Half Life for the direction FPS games took. It wasnโ€™t it and Valveโ€™s fault that people are unoriginal retards that latch onto other peopleโ€™s ideas for the sake of trying to emulate their success.

I feel like this is only known for the Koala blowing up a water tower gif
(ignore its popularity in latin America)

By the time Ugly Americans came out that tone was already solidified. Plus it at least it had decent designs and sometimes smart writing, IIRC it got killed by Brickleberry or the Brickleberry clone, which was possibly the nadir for "adult animated comedy" that was popular at the time.

I always remembered it for that episode where the cop beat a birdperson to death with his cock

The koala was the best part.
And yes it is fondly remembered in Latin America.

The manbird denying his son as he died made me laugh so fucking much.

Jesus christ. People talk shit about season 2 but I am just done watching the lilith episode and I can already tell is 1000 miles better than whatever that is, talk about a downgrade

of all the things to blame for that it's kinda weird that you're picking a short-lived show that was already fading into obscurity by the time its second and final season aired

It's okay, lots of people make that typo. Obviously we all agree it's peak Augenblick

I love this show, it's very underrated. I rewatch it every few years and am actually halfway through season 2 at the moment. I like both seasons equally even if the first one had better world building. The episode with marks clone is great

I liked this show. It might not have been great but it was still decent and I am pissed that Daniel Tosh forced its cancellation.
