Superman is harsh, but fair in his analysis: Marvel is definitely more of a crapsack world than DC is. It's not as though the heroes aren't trying though, they're just not as all-powerful as DC's and there's only so much they can all do.

I have no fucking idea what Steve is smoking in his bit. It sounds like he just made up the idea of DC heroes ruling as gods when they're venerated for just being heroes

The league, at least based strictly on what's seen in these panels and ignoring the complexity of the settings(IIRC, Coast City was also destroyed at the time and Cap IS very popular).
Cap just rushed to a conclusion that's clearly wrong.

They were both being influenced to think that way. but I think Superman's complaints have more truth in them.
Like, I feel like he would probably think something similar even if he wasn't being mind controlled, he just wouldn't be a judgy bitch about it.
