Any Malu has the distinction of being the first fully-animated YouTuber, her debut video having been released August 12, 2015. She is manically energetic, tri-polar, big-hearted, and very pink. She is Brazilian, and all of her videos are in Brazilian Portuguese, but around the first half (?) of her videos have subtitles on Youtube.

She is the creation of Combo Estúdio, an animation studio from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Sometimes she posts videos about herself and her friends, some videos are interviews with other Brazilian YouTubers or celebrities, a few videos are full song parodies. Around 2019, she got a show on Cartoon Network Brasil , where she interviewed other Cartoon Network stars along with other stories. While the CN show replaced the YouTube videos, she still posted short-form content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok. She also hosted a podcast with more cartoon interviews. In 2023, she released an OVA about her first day at school and meeting her friends. After that, she was still posting TikToks, but she hasn't posted anything on any account for over a year...

I remember the first Any Malu threads. It took a few tries but she gained a small following on /co/. Besides her obvious physical appeal, there was the novelty of seeing a professionally-animated YouTuber played 90% straight, and it was the only view we had into Brazilian internet culture. There were even refugees visiting from BRChan. As long as the episodes had English subtitles, even the somewhat broken English official subs, we could have threads. But somwhere along the way, the episodes stopped being subtitled in English and even Portuguese. The voice recognition YouTube uses to auto-generate Portuguese subtitles can barely keep up with Malu's rapid speech and the auto-translation into English suffers even more. There is content to be consumed on sites that can't generate Portuguese subtitles. Worst of all, the Any Malu Show from CN is region-locked on Amazon now.

Despite all that, about a month ago, I began manually translating the subtitles into readable English despite not knowing Portuguese. The early episodes are easy - they have slightly odd English subtitles already and just need some tweaking. Some episodes have official Portuguese subtitles that can be machine translated and edited for readability. This task will get harder once I have to start relying on auto-generated Portuguese subs, and I have yet to figure out a way to obtain the region-locked content in HD. I'll get there somehow.

Unfortunately she sort of lost her soul when she moved to Cartoon Network, and it felt like less and less effort was put into content.
Then the art style shifted, an entire new VA cast came in, and then there hasn't been a peep on any channel since July of last year.
She might be dead.

Looking at the credits for the First Day special, Anderson Mahanski and Fernando Mendonça are not listed anywhere other than as the creators of Any Malu, so maybe that's the answer. The vision is gone.

Youtube is kill. US accounts that are suspected of belonging to under 18s will have to verify that they are adults, otherwise they'll be locked down. AI will be guessing based on watch history, so it's assumed that any cartoon/animation channels will be hard hit.

Hey, thanks. That's really where I stopped watching too, I'm looking forward to catching up to the episodes I've only ever heard in Portuguese.
