Zootopia 1 will be 10 years old next year. How do you feel about that?

i find it funny the only part of the film thats aged is the apple product placement, none of the products showcased are made anymore

I still haven’t watched it. Is there anything of value to non-furfags?

I feel Disney waited too long, but the idiots once again failed to understand that talking animals are BANK. They should have learned by how Pocahantas tanked compared to The Lion King. Once they run out of other peoples' public domain stuff to adapt, maybe we'll get more stuff that goes back to Disney's roots: furry stuff.

judy has an ipod nano and apple earphones in the start of the film and the old style iphones are used by the characters

You mean once they run out of their own public domain adaptations to adapt to "live" action

They missed their chance to milk this franchise. The only way it'll be big again is if a puss in boots 2 situation happens where the movie is unexpectedly excellent.

As when it was released? Definitely not. It has quite some buzz due to being THE furry media of the 2010s but it's not half as big as when the movie released. That is to say, its popular now but before it was a FORCE.

It's a good movie regardless. It should have gotten a videogame, but Disney was going into their currently borderline retarded phase, where good movies for some reason don't need videogames except cell phone garbage. Shoulda called Capcom or some other good company for a platformer/action games like back in the 90's, when nearly every Disney show had a Capcom nes/snes game.

Interesting it took them this long to follow up on such a profitable movie, but then production would have to navigate at least two minefields. Or maybe they just wanted to wait until the tidal wave of porn finally petered out.

If the sequel is any good at all it's just going to start another wave.

Recently watched it for family movie night with my kid, she was unimpressed based on how often we've played animal cops since then which has been exactly zero times. I thought it held up pretty good though.

It's basically an even lamer version of the Nick Nolte/Eddie Murphy movie 48 Hours, which is saying something because 48 Hours was nothing special even by "action buddies" standards.

My younger brother was the one interested in seeing this the first time and I was only interested cause I thought Judy was cute. Now our roles are switched. I'm kinda hyped about the sequel but bro is meh, even though he's more of a furry than me.

Disney has the dumbest stat analysts ever that they listen to for some reason. They will not look at the universal liking to animals and the successes of Zootopia or Lion King, not even look at their fucking mascots in Mickey and Donald. No, they will barely lean into animal characters even though it has been their proven success outside princess films.
Probably the same analysts who determined every protagonist needs to be a kid in their shows now, despite basically every single Disney character who blew up outside like three were adults

I see it differently. Zootopia is their "break glass incase of emergency" IP. The reason they went back to it is they're really desperate. I do appreciate they seemingly spared Zootopia from all the strange shit that happened to movies like Wreck It Ralph 2 and Wish. I don't mind political stuff in media as long as its not gender identity based.
