I havent finished the season yet but from a few of the Ep's I have watched, these are spoilers so I doubt anyone on this board cares

Maya's actual mom is alive. She's really hot and very rich and the complete opposite of Maya. The reason she left Maya at the orphanage was because she's a career woman but not a meaningful career that Maya can be proud of. She is, her universes version of Oprah but despite how rich she is, her contract is under Wizard Kelly who is tired of paying her enormous contract fee and wants to subsidize her show for a show involving his wife.

It goes predictably as you'd think it would. There are also weird plots like Al Roker speaking to a different older version of Maya from a different part of the Multiverse who "calmed down" when she got older which to me is the writers not really getting why people hated Maya in the first place but its them acknowledging that Maya's personality might turn people off.

But the dumbest Ep's from the ones I watch are the ones where they combine the plots of Black Panther and Avatar together and its a Penny/Djonnay plot instead of a Penny/Maya plot

So there is just as much Maya in this as there was in S2 and her personality is pretty much the same. Its really clear the writers dont actually like the prouds they wanna write plots for basically anyone other then Penny.

I have a love hate relationship with proud family. On one level, they bring up race issue it's like opening an old wound. The writing is always one sided, I would be open to the show if it felt balanced but it's more like yes that person is the bad guy and he's wrong.

On the other hand I love the art. I'm not saying it's great but it's kind of like watching My Life as a teenage robot. The show has it's own art style and it knows it.
