Anon I was following the show and its threads from day one. By the end of season one the threads would get venomous at the sudden change in focus. Then between seasons shills and employees tried to tell people they were being insane to think that a plot would be added and it would be all about civilization. If Genndy really wanted people to actually watch his recent show, Fixed, then he should have known that putting excessive amounts of swear words, showing dog genitalia and making certain characters obnoxious, like Bull and his friends, should not have been the way to go about but no he wanted to have his edgy raunchy dog humping show.

season 2 is more good episodes than bad but the season as a whole was still pretty disappointing, despite the episodes being fine in a vacuum they were still pretty bad ways to spend the runtime and mostly carried by the simple strength of the show's concept and animation rather the episodes themselves actually being strong uniquely, and a lot of that comes down to the narrative warping to justify Mira and the ending, as well as wasting an episode on Primal Theory when the rest of the season was already incredibly rushed.
Season 1 is like, a 9/10 season made up of a bunch of 9/10 episodes, there's a couple standouts and a couple kinda forgettable but the season is just what you get from the average of the episodes and it's incredibly solid.
Season 2 is on average worse than S1 looking at individual episodes but it still has a couple great ones, the average is probably like a 7.5/10, but as a whole the season falls kinda flat and it's hard to give it more than a 6. The things that tie the episodes together, that make S2 different from season 1, are almost all making it worse.

only episodes 1 through 9 for Primal are kino. The introduction of the slave woman and s2's overall plot spoiled what was otherwise a gem. It was at its strongest when it was episodic adventures in a primal (kek) world. The whole narrative of s2 funnily enough made the world vastly smaller and less intresting to me.

Talking animal bullshit is the reason western animation never reached the heights like anime did.

Cartoon oldheads sort of already knew this guy was overrated hack, but he was part of the (((tribe))) so you couldn't touch him, plus he did occasionally deliver on his projects unlike Hirsch who had even better long nose connections and still squandered most of it.

First, Dexter's Lab was low-key carried by Craig McCracken and Butch Hartman (also a hack, but he brainstormed the Justice Friends segments so losing him was a major blow) and Genndy abandoned the show to Chris Savino, who took most of the blame for its downfall despite Genndy being responsible for the shitty redesigns and the budget being slashed in favor of his walking no talking sword unsheathey noise toon.

Jack lost to hateful fart cartoons and got cancelled. SBT lost to Adventureslop and got cancelled. He was replaced on Reddit Wars. Jack S5 was bad and the ending had to be retconned by a video game. Primal was mixed results and was not shy to the fact it was entirely relying on his name brand, which had waned to nothingness by the time Uniflop came out. So fitting it feels like Fixed is the hurrah for this swindling slavic yid, just a completely degenerate mess that ends with homosexual cucking. Whether or not he gets Kyle'd remains to be seen, once his rabbinic masters tire of protecting him.

It's not all of a sudden. Samurai Jack season 5 was a fucking mess from episode 4 to the end. Primal ended better, but the finale was so rushed and they had that unnecessary anthology episode with Charles Darwin in the middle when they should have focused on Spaer and Fang. Never watched that Unicorn show. I haven't seen Fixed but I've heard so many mixed opinions about it I'm losing interest.

I think we can all agree Primal only needed a proper hour long finale special in order to reach Jack levels of good and also have Spear and Mira bone before the final battle, not after

Is it just me or did anyone else notice how bad the animation for Season 2 Primal was compared to Season 1, like look at the first few episodes of S1. It's expressive, detailed and fluid. Most episodes near the end of S2 literally reuse the frames over and over. Fuck, an entire 2 minutes of an episode is just reusing like 5 animations.

I know quality, overtime, drops. But, it's just jarring.

I do have HBOmax since the internet provider gives it for free with the contract (AKA forces it in to increase the price), and it was #1 in cartoon streaming. However, with no competition as there weren't any other HBO cartoons coming out at that time. And it did not maintain it for long.

Holy shit, finally some good news. I'm a Primal Purist but I actually don't think the show has any bad episodes, I just don't like the direction it went in after s1. It was presented as a purely visual animated show with no dialogue, complemented by being set in a prehistoric world where the only characters were cavemen and dinosaurs who could only communicate in grunts and roars. That's what we got and it was absolute kino, with the artists really pushing the limit of what you could express without language. And then in s2 Genndy just said "Naw, that's stupid, I wanna do Conan". And Genndy can do Conan if he wants, but leave it for a different show.
