Fags ruin it. Not the gays, but insufferable fags that want to inject their police and fringe world views instead of telling a good story.

Because the writers for DCAU's big shows had actual Hollywood experience from the days where they were trained directly by writers who worked in the golden age of Hollywood, and coincided with the Animation Renaissance which meant there was an active interest in seeing animated adaptations, and quite frankly capeshit just works better as animation as opposed to live action.

It had the perfect start with top tier voice actors, and the artstyle was streamlined yet aesthetic (ignoring the last season of btas). The first Batman and Superman shows were very grounded, and naturally expanded into the JL/JLU shows. I enjoyed JLU giving the spotlight to lesser characters. Another thing is it ignored the worst of the comic book autism and smoothed over all of the rough edges, every character was nerfed, and it never disappeared up its own ass. Even the original writing in Batman Beyond was very well done - the premise of a high schooler becoming the next batman in futuristic Gotham sounds retarded, but they made a great show out of it. Even Static Shock was "okay."

I despise most live action capeshit. Sure Marvel btfo DC in Hollywood, but it's all trash. One of my favorite comparisons is the 2021 Suicide Squad film - it's a 2 hour long abomination that everyone hates, yet it mades like $600 million. And yet DC released animated movies about the same concept in 2014 and 2018 that did every single thing better in like half the runtime, yet nobody knows about them.
Some of the Batman/Joker live action movies are good, and I liked the first Deadpool movie, but I don't care for anything else.

I like some of it, but I just don't get why animation isn't seen as the most obvious translation of the characters. Until Spider-verse, there were only DVD movies, and while there's some pretty good and even great stuff, the fact that there's basically no serious, or at least non-baby tier animated cape movie is sad

There are some nice ones. Nothing insanely premium with nearly the budget of the live action slop, but very much taken seriously for a wide audience. Dark Knight Returns parts 1 and 2 and The Long Halloween parts 1 and 2 are probably the best, also BTAS Mask of the Phantasm. The Superman movies are all shit in comparison, but All-Star is probably the best if you get past its meme artstyle. I don't think a single Justice League movie could be called above average. I like both of the animated Suicide Squad movies but they are very small in scale.

Thoughts on the flash point paradox movie. It was pretty enjoyable and I liked seeing all the warped versions of the heroes, like superman being held by the government, aquaman and black manta working together, and of course thawne. I thought the artstyle was neat too

I guess Flashpoint would be one of the better ones, but I think the JL movies are all doomed to kind of suck because it's just too much for one 2 hour movie, and most are even shorter. It works better as a long running series. I honestly like the Constantine movies more than them, Dark 2017 and City of Demons 2018, not that those are particualrly amazing either. Going back to the Suicide Squad movies, I think they handle a larger cast better because they are more comedic, and not every character is expected to be given a significant amount of screentime or development.
