What was it like watching it in theatres? I'm 22 and didn't get to experience such thing.

once every couple of years is the only way I can watch it, last time I peeped it I remember giggling hysterically than became very depressed knowing the movie was almost over when they get to shell city.

The show was so much better when Plankton was a occasional character.

There was an entire scene where Spongebob and Patrick see her on the surface that got cut

It was kino of the highest order. Just imagine seeing the Goofy Goober Rock scene for the first time in a theater.

We'll never get another cartoon phenomenon like SpongeBob in the near future

i really hate spongezoomers that genuinely think sponge out of water is better
not to say it wasn't good. it did make better use of the entire cast. that doesn't inherently make it better.

Yeah but when Hoff shows up, that's some gold right there.
The sudden cameo and chad hearty laugh must have been super kino.
Also do you think those two hillbilly fishes were in Baldwin's mind when he was on the set of Rust and his pure seethe caused him to pull the trigger?

The entire theater room was crowded to the point people were sitting on the floor
I remember everyone got up and went crazy during the goofy goober scene
Ocean Man still sticks to me in a melancholic way
I was seven years old and I'm still a virgin and now have min wage job, I barely remember. I wish I paid more attention to my surroundings, that was the peak of a real cultural phenomenon. But I was glued to the big screen, though I think I still remember what was on TV before left home or after we came from the movies. Hihi Puffy AmiYumi.

I, too, missed out. Didn't grow up with Cable, so I didn't see the SpongeBob movie until I got it on DVD years after the fact. The special edition one with the yellow case

Awesome, but my experience wasn't typical. I went to one of the movie theaters in the Villages Florida, so it was only me, my mom, my friend, and two old people that sat pretty far away. It was rad, it felt like having a private theater experience and we could be as silly as we wanted to. Me and my friend went BALLISTIC at the scene where Patrick's holding the flag with his asscheeks.
I saved my allowance to buy the DVD the day it hit street date, I've held onto that copy ever since. I even got it signed by Rodger Bumpass at Megacon!
