I am eternally confused by the reasonings for KFP4 being held as the worst one.

KFP3 only had the furious five get jobbed by some fat bastard. They were barely in the movie. Tigress was but she doesn't do anything.

And neither was Po in Tai Lung or anyone else' eyes. That was the point of the first movie.

The villain already fucking won. She had an entire town suppressed by her army. You knowing how three act story structures work and knowing she has to be defeated at the end doesn't change that.

The visuals of the fights were the only thing good about the movie. I feel like the rest of it was Po relearning shit he already knew until it gave him more power for some reason.

I know that movie was more about teaching his family what he forgot, but it really felt like a bad excuse to raise his power level.

You know it's funny because I was talking about this with friends who were saying Awkwafina needs to stop being casts as characters.

Which characters? Ms. Tarantula? No. She was good in that. Sisu? No they feel she was cast well for that too. Zhen? No her voice works with Zhen.

So it's JUST Scuttle. She was also in Angry Birds 2 and Migration but none of my friends even saw those movies.

Atleast with KFP you can largely dismiss the 4th installment without hearing alot of lip from people with shit tastes. I'm beyond sick of people defending Shrek 4 because "atleast it's not Shrek 3". Both films were shit. No Shrek movies after 2 are worth a damn. Even the holiday specials are mediocre.

I don't know my Chinese mythology but isn't the thing about the dragons (Or Long?) that they wield the powers of different elements? A kung-fu Master able to mimic everyone's style sounds very kungfu to me. But she wasn't copying. Blending like a chameleon. She was straight up stealing. Which sucks.

KFP3 has a consistent story and actually feels like a fitting chapter in Po’s story and not a super long episode like 4.

And the animation is actually pretty. 4 looks cheap and choppy as heck. Li Shan in particular has uncanny expressions

3 was made to complete the story of Kung Fu Panda.

4 was an obvious full-on cash grab. Dreamworks really needed an easy moneymaker into make plenty of dough to recoup COVID losses. The production is famously known for disagreements within the crew and rushed last-minute elements. Zhen and Chameleon weren’t gonna have backstories at all. That’s why they seem half baked. Because they actually were.

I don't like 3 but atleast it has some pretty good fights and exciting moments, plus Kai is entertaining. 4 is alright, but it's very tame compared to previous movies, it feels like a long episode of the legends of awesomeness cartoon with a higher budget. I like Zhen and i dont mind the Chameleon being a shit villain, but the whole "Po must find a successor" thing is a bit too much, as it didnt seem like dragon warrior was a position that could be passed on before.

4 was lackluster, like a TV special that somehow made it into theaters. The main character was a glass cannon, but it didn't really matter because the plot wasn't about how menacing she was anyhow.

You described why I don't like the Kung Fu Panda franchise. Po is in every way an annoying Gary Stu who quickly masters every single damn power up making veterans like Shifu look like a rookie in fact he complained about how quickly Po masters things in Kung Fu Panda 2.

Seeing villains who spend years training and mastering their craft lose to this irritating character makes all the movies annoying. The only character I hate more than Po is that shitty bearded goat bitch who gaslight Shen into becoming a criminal all the while she says that Shen is now doomed.

I really hated that bitch. And I hate how she survived the movie's events. If I were to make a Kung Fu Panda movie that's the one character I wish to kill off as brutally as possible. I know I can't kill off Po since he's the Gary Stu but I can totally dedicated the budget money of one Kung Fu Panda film just to have a mini subplot to kill off that annoying goat soothsayer bitch.

Shrek 3 - Find some random character that no one is going to care about so Shrek can return to living in a swamp like how he wants and Shrek worries about becoming a father.

Shrek 4 - Hey lets do Shrek 1 but this time using a Fast Forward feature because Shrek NEEDS to rush through the old plot points like befriending Donkey and having Fiona fall in love with him because if he doesn't do it, he is deleted from reality. So it felt like the first movie but worse in every way.

Shrek 2 is overrated but it is the last decent Shrek film. And I hope against hope that Shrek 5 is a failure. Same to other things like Ice Age 6, the next Hotel Transylvania and the next Despicable Me movies. God so many tired sequels to old ass shit.
