The worst part is that Connie and Bobby basically felt like their whole point was to be a cute first love but obviously not endgame. Hence their whole amicable breakup.

It’s a good episode but it’s also a point where I felt they were going to the “Bobby gets involved in something Hank doesn’t like” well too often.

At least (and this may be how they justified it in the writers’ room) it’s less focused on Bobby/Hank and more on Bobby and Joseph and the challenge of the world’s most unathletic kid being friends with an athletic kid like Joseph.

They never did much with that because once Brittany Murphy stopped being Joseph (not long after this) they emphasized Joseph as an awkward horny kid who is less cool in every way than Bobby. Which is fine but kind of a conventional dynamic.

The floating timeline for this show makes no sense as i get the feeling its actually meant to be set in the early mid 2010s but for whatever reason they decided to change things to be post covid and match the current year.

The writers just didn't wanna bother developing a new character in depth. Like if Willow stayed they'd have to work on a bunch of characters, situations and locations around her for future plot lines while they can just save themselves some work using Connie and do just cliche college stuff. This is how writers think.

Absolutely, Dale is a good dad that cares about his boy. And the idea that Joseph is just Dale in Redcorn’s body is funny. The fact that they both had the same plan but for Hank and Bobby respectively is just the cherry on top.

their writers are millennials remembering what it was like when they were in their early 20s
bobby and joseph love craft beers, and can still live in apartments, the idea of skipping out on college for your passion was still seen as a feasible dream even if very uncommon, connie gets persuaded into thinking an open relationship is a progressive idea, and bobby has flings
if they were zoomers there would be no expectation for them to have moved out, they wouldn't drink much beer or have casual sex, bobby would still have gone to college and would just have less active social lives

by all means if the timeline made sense with how old they made GH and how long the show has been gone Bobby would still be a millennial, if just barely

They're not zoomers, the KOTH timeline isn't really a floating timeline so much as it's a stretched timeline or whatever the official name for it would be. Bobby and Connie are 21 in 2025, yet they have a flashback to a school dance that took place in 1999 (or it might have been 1998). Cotton still fought in WW2 despite the fact that he died 8 years ago at 75 years old. It's kind of a have your cake and eat it too situation with the repercussions being that the timeline makes absolutely no sense, unlike say The Simpsons where the timeline makes sense, but Homer and Marge are millenials now
