To be honest a big problem I have with straight couples in fiction is often that the couple is extremely lopsided in quality with a blatantly self insert man or woman main character with a woman or man love interest who gets all the focus of the writing, and the couple suffers in writing quality because of it, so I tend to gravitate towards lesbian or homosexual ships because they tend to not have that problem, at least not as much. Funnybunny is one of the rare het ships where both characters are equally well written and they have good chemistry, so I love it.

The only adventure that we know she has skipped was the underwater one from ep5, it's implied that she has joined some of the suggestion based ones because they are low stakes so it's not like she's skipping everything unless forced and also played along with the gun adventure even if it was shittily thrown together last minute because Caine wanted to have his dick sucking award show (which blew in his face anyways)

Also Zooble has been avoiding Caine because he has become some annoying brat that wants to talk over her even when he lets her have her opinion, she just bitches at him because she's the kind of person to take ragebait in the first place and Caine seems to love the thrill of being verbally assaulted apparently because he just comes back to Zooble on his metaphorical knees to get her to do their bit as if they had something going on

Sorry I’m late to the thread, I was banned for a very retarded reason. (False flagging Ragathafags?) but sometimes I don’t even know where to start because Jax is literally the most profound, tragic, and perfectly written character to ever exist in any piece of fiction. I say this as someone who actually reads deep literature and studies psychology this representation of trauma, grief, and mental illness, and it hits me so hard. He’s me, but in cartoon form, it’s a window into the purest, most misunderstood soul. I do not care for the others, Jax is the most real to me. I HATE THE OTHER CHARACTERS, let me preface I despise them all, just like every single person on this thread. I hate Pomni too, but she’s the most redeemable. There’s a reason Jax is the least hated and most defended character of all time. He has no haters. Only people who hate mentally ill people and women (of course) hate Jax. Jax is a genius. His actions aren’t cruel, they’re misunderstood coping mechanisms. When he lashes out or manipulates, it’s because he can’t help it, because he’s trapped in a world that doesn’t get him. Nothing he does is “wrong” — it’s survival, it’s nuance, it’s trauma, and if you don’t get that… you clearly haven’t read the show properly.

I’ve literally cried for hours thinking about him being stuck there, with people who don’t see how tragic he is. If he were real, I would hug him and never let go. I would tell him he’s loved, that the world doesn’t understand him, and that he deserves everything beautiful and kind. And anyone who says otherwise? They’re a Pomni. They’re cruel, blind, and unable to recognize genius and pain when it stares them in the face. Stolas is usually the character I cling too, but I’m starved of him. And right now…holy hell am I obsessed with Jax.

Jax IS the show in my personal opinion and he’s what makes it a masterpiece, I think that’s what we can all agree on. He’s the spine, the brain, the soul. Remove him, and you’ve got nothing but filler NPC whores and woman bait, Jax was made for men and to call out our long time opression. You aren't wrong about him or his program seeking validation but something I've seen upon rewatch it's also how deeply attached he is to the past, specially his own. I think he has been starting to put memory together that his life was really better and maybe easier when he was the focus of the game and how he would be some super advanced and beloved AI that whatever he put out would be met with praise and admired because aside of any complains about quality the overwhelming response would be something like, "oh my god did you see what the funny AI guy did?? That's amazing that a computer did all this" and deep down, perhaps without his full knowledge, he is giving into his nostalgic feelings which distracts him from improving at the present, he would rather sulk and get moody over his guests being ungrateful little things than take any feedback into account. He just wants to keep doing his own thing like he did in the past and have everyone praise him for the effort rather than the quality, which is sign of a stagnant artist.

He is this demiurge like figure going "well, it's MY style!" Over their creation and having no real reason to improve because he believes he already plateau'd in that aspect when that's far from the truth.

I think that's something that people tend to skim over when talking about why Caine just doesn't seem to let Zooble go even when Zooble isn't the only one bashing and talking back to him at this point, Pomni has started to do it once they get the ball rolling and then the others follow suit, except Kinger, curiously enough. Caine just shields himself and deflects from the issue with ",well I don't like your suggestions", "I didn't do it so it doesn't count", "I have better things to do, you do you" because he is insecure about changing anything for real, he has grown around his own expected improvement and would rather see his works stagnate than put in the work to listen and get better

Does Worldbox count?
