Trey Parker and Matt Stone were forced to attend a mandatory meeting with the Ellisons and Comedy Central executives Thursday evening, with it explicitly told to them that attendance was required "...or else".
Trey and Matt were basically torn a new asshole and had to take it in silence, something that hasn't happened to them since the 201 incident. And Comedy Central's top executives had to stay quiet and watch this happen too, since they got their own chewing out a day earlier for not putting a stop to Trey and Matt's bullshit Trump/Conservative bashing. And yes, the Ellisons did tell Trey and Matt that Charlie Kirk's death was their fault and that they are going to pay penance for it.
After this private castration, the Comedy Central executives basically told Trey and Matt that they are no longer allowed to make fun of Trump and conservative figures like Charlie Kirk. They were told to come up with some plot device (like the first three episodes being a bad drug trip Randy was on) to erase the the first three episodes from canon and resume production of the show in the vein of the "funnier earlier seasons". IF they did so, the first three episodes will be allowed to stay up on streaming and see release on DVD (as Trey and Matt are big pushers for the show being available on home video and keeping the banned episodes available that way). And that Comedy Central will extend the hiatus to give them time to make new episodes if needed.
