This shit feels like a Kyle Carozza pitch, it’s just another show where the main characters are "x and x"

The pacing and timing in the animation here feels all off too, it’s hard for my eyes to follow along. Some of these characters have a lack of form, look at this dog thing, when he wild takes his torso changes size and when he goes down his position on the ground changes too, not helping is the lack of key frames. Compare this to something with expressive animation that’s actually well-done like Ren & Stimpy, despite its expressiveness its animation is well-timed and characters manage to have form despite the show not even using model sheets, along with pacing that helps you actually fucking process what’s going on.

This whole pilot feels rushed.

Ok, lets see what episodes he actually worked on. He did 3 out of the 7 season 1 episodes as a storyboarder. I'd say Father Time is definitely a great and icon FOP episode. Fountain's complaint seems to be that Butch Hartman put his name on the credits as well as a storyboarder, but if you look at all of FOP's first season episodes, Butch did this for EVERY episode. Not sure if it was just standard MO for those days or what, but no other storyboarder complained about Butch doing this besides Fountain so I assume he was more hands on and involved in the work than John was giving him credit for.

Also as an aside, season 1 of FOP had a very troubled production. It took forever to make and many of the intended season 1 episodes such as Tootie's reintroduction were pushed to season 2. Probably the only reason it wasn't cancelled outright after that was because it mogged Unvader Zim so badly kek

Season 2 he worked on some good episodes, but you can tell they upped the amount of staff. Season 2 had like 9 credit crew members on average whereas Season 1 had 4 to 6. Probably because it was a bigger production order and because of season 1 taking years to make. He worked on like one season 3 episode as a director, then was seemingly demoted back down to storyboarder for Abra Catastrophe before getting fired all together. So, in all honesty, I think while he was a good worker, something tells me he was either too slow or just butted heads with the other staff in particular Butch too much.

Also, he wasn't involved in the episode that made Trixie le heckin wholesome chungus tomboyerino like /co/ wanks over and in fact the other season 2 episodes he did make (Information Stupor Highway and Scary Godparents) made Trixie downright villainous, so its not like he was fighting to make characters on the show more deep or anything.

Actually he commissioned a YouTube artist, Kuro the artist from Ink Tank, who was inspired by Ben 10 and Danny Phantom (He's also the creator of the 5 Years Later webcomic) to do a few seconds of animation for a few hundred dollars.
The two of them worked together on other projects such as Imaginathan and the Nicktoons Unite Justice League parody but the work he did on the Imaginathan pilot is what soured him towards Butch, his childhood hero.
Butch didn't pay him for his work for unknown reasons and Kuro stayed silent about it for years, he only went public about it after Butch claimed he could cure autism with the power of God.
This got Kuro so disgusted as he worked at a school for mentally disabled kids one time so he made a video exposing the whole payment debacle.
The video got Butch to eventually pay him and so he made another video saying that everything is fine now, he had to distance Butch away from Danny Phantom in his mind to still be able to enjoy the show and that he privated his first video revealing the payment issues as he doesn't want it to still cause controversy after that issue got resolved.
Although i can't find Kuro's video addressing the resolution either so i assume he privated/deleted all videos related to Butch as he doesn't want to be affiliated with Butch or the controversy between them anymore, although there are still videos by other channels that discuss the controversy.

You don’t know me, but if you ever watched Gertie the Dinosaur, The Adventures of Prince Achmed, and Koko the Clown, you are familiar with my work.

I didn’t just work on those shows, I helped forge them. You could I say I even created your childhood.

5 seconds ago, I came out of semi-retirement, invigorated by the emergence of the #IndieAnimation revolution like for example BFDI, CartoonMania, NickCheezy, and Rodfellows (Which I helped with a scene or two).

As a way of throwing my hat into that ring, I created a mentorship program where I could emulate my mentors John "CoolGuyNinja2" Fountain and Rakoon "C" Dountain and give young, completely gullible animators a shot at simultaneously learning from the wise creator of all your favorite cartoons Spacey "M" Spacer.

Since then, we have produced the same “What a Cartoon!” style shorts 5 times over on a budget of my student's college money, this is I believe, very impressive results that I helped forge (Don't forget that!).

A draw friend should start adapting those Garfield horror cartoons where John “F” Fountain is some all powerful eldritch monstrosity capable of both creating/saving the animation industry as well as horrors beyond your wildest dreams.

Before this thread ends, I just wanna say that for as mockable this fountain guy is, he’s not that bad of a cartoonist.

fwiw, drawing style isn't really that important for storyboard work. It's mostly about blocking out each shot and working out general cinematography as well as being able to work relatively quickly since each shot is likely to go through multiple revisions before being approved. You just need to convey how the scene will play out. The shots are refined in the subsequent stages of the process. Anyone who would spend a lot of time refining the actual rendering of characters in a storyboard is wasting time and likely wouldn't last long.
