Not a hot take, just a common one because it would be perceived by casual viewers as a sexual fantasy.
But I think it portrayed that rape victim mentality pretty well. Mark was very afraid of her at first and just wanted to avoid her all the time. He couldn't tell anyone as well because no one would believe him or if they did he wanted that horrible memory to stay in the past at all cost.
One of the many reasons mark left earth with his family.
Anissa should be known for that rape because that's a major part of her character and transition to a mother. She is part of what makes this series stands with those other dark style currupted super hero series. Her rape is just as important to Mark beating the (forget his name) the multiverse portal guy to death and not realizing his own strength, that heroes don't kill is a fallacy, that heroes can be corrupted, that villains will do more than just smear a heroes name, they are crazy enough to rape one of the strongest in the world because they can. It's that shit, where characters who are pure can be corrupted, and where currupt evil villains can change and it's not a pretty sight. That's what this series is, like watchmen but to a much lesser extent.
