treating genies as omnipotent is really stupid, they should at most be capable of limited, circumstantial reality warping. stuff like granting material gain or amazing human talents or magical items/personal magic powers, causing natural disaster, setting curses, teleportation, limited time travel that does not cause paradoxes or alteration of grand historical events, manipulating circumstance, etc. I.e a genie shouldn't be able to blow up the world, alter the universal laws of physics, remove religions from history, alter all of mankind, grant omnipotence or infinite genies, infringe on the powers of God, etc. It's a spirit, not the fucking creator of the universe, if they were so powerful all of history would just be the consequences of various wishes, and in any case it posits the question of how this omnipotent magical entity was set to the task of letting idiots wish for bigger dicks. Did a wizard trap an omnipotent being or did he make something that could grant any wish?
