None of Mundus's attacks do that either. If we're assuming it's the same old interdimensional rift then during Clive, Joshua and Torgal's first battle with Ultima, the rift was getting altered constantly just based on Ultima's whims and emotions. He can alter the place with his mind. It's much more likely to be a separate plane of reality they're fighting in for Ultima Prime vs Ifrit Risen.
Where did they get that they were fighting in the rift for the final battle anyway? I thought it was just some place located inside Origin before the Ultima Prime part.

Well, the short answer is that Bayonetta wins because Kamiya said so, and also due to Bayo and her villains having actual feats on screen, like destroying moons, planets, or alternate universes.

The truth is that Dante may not even be in the top 5 of most powerful Kamiya playable characters, since you have Bayonetta, Balder, Rodin, Amaterasu, and Viewtiful Joe.

If DMC fanboys, the ones who don't care for any action game outside of DMC, say Dante is universal due to Mundus's pocket dimension and keeping the Earth and demonic realm divided, then the same could be said about VJ and his movie lore. Bayo, VJ, and DMC have at least 1 storyline about preventing dimensional merges to keep the status quo of their world. The difference is that at least Okami, W101, and Bayonetta have characters controlling, creating, or blowing up moons, planets, or stars/suns.

In Okami, there's this big fish that makes the whole Moon, several stars, and its god disappear by eating their reflections on a lake. Amaterasu needs to catch it to restore them. Dante likely being faster, which only gets improved with Devil Trigger, and his superior regeneration lets him stay in the fight more than long enough to figure Clive out. His supernatural senses would clue him in on danger as soon as possible, especially given the accuracy with which he can analyse his target.
