Rewatched season 2 after contemplating my last thread question of Flame Princess dating who, so here me out, but what if Huntress Wizard is, not trans, but bisexual and seeing FP?

Episode 1 Season 2 opens up seemingly simple on the surface, a child recounting Fiona's adventures with drawings, a retelling from last season in a kind of early Ice King way. But when the topic of Finn comes up, Bubblegum asks "Which reminds me, where is Finn anyway? I haven't seen him in awhile." to which Simon answers, "Last I saw, he was going up to Huntress Wizard's place." Which Marceline, whose head been resting on PB's lap, sits up and asks "Wait, those two are together again?" Evident from her tone it is a surprise. Simon just shrugs, not knowing. Which Marceline then states, "I got to give that girl a call". PB, in disbelief remarks, "You have her number?" Marceline looks away from PB and says "No" as if hiding a relationship.

We fast forward to episode 2. Huntress Wizard talking with Witch Wizard, in which she tenatively explains what Finn means to her in saying, "He's my...friend." Again as if hiding something where its a complex matter.

So episode 3 is where we get a bunch of details that seem rando and disjointed for an episode

Watch the ghostshrimp podcast. Everyone working on the show was still expecting another season. After production wrapped up for Gumbaldia, Cartoon Network informed the producers that the upcoming 4 part special that they were working on, the outline, was going to be the series finale. That's why CN split the seasons up into 10 seasons. It wouldn't make any sense for the upcoming Season 11 Adventure Time comic which was eventually cancelled by Boom! anyway

CN gave them 4 additional months to rewrite the special. That probably explains the 4 month hiatus before Preboot aired, since that was when the series finale was announced.
