To be pedantic though, not all skin suits are murder. The last thread had one of the rare examples that was neither murder or nonsensical. Ibuki Douji shed her skin and gifted it to her lover. Upon wearing it, it transformed him into a copy of herself. She was essentially a serpent god with so much power that multiple selves exist within her. So it makes sense that she could shed her skin and that said skin would have the power to change the form of a person.

I think there's a difference between Identity Death and Identity Change, with the second just being a much more extreme form of a Mental Change that an outright erasing. That said I HAVE seen Identity Death used well in Multi TF works where only one person gets Identity Death'd while another isn't and has to deal with there freinds change along with their own transformation, which could even lead to them having to try reverse it to an extent as a narrative goal in the story.

This is a big reason I love Reality Change/Warp/Shift as a part of TSF stories, it solves that problem as well as allowing for a plausible reason for why other transformation tags (e.g. Mental Changes, Compulsion, eitc.) would appear since it would just be the new reality reinforcing itself on the protagonist.

I just wish Reality Change/Warp would be used more often, I've seen some good stories and comics where the transformation of the surroundings is just as good as the transformation the protagonist goes through, yet it's always shoved aside or never touched on too often.

Identity change is the one I prefer as even if the MC is the only person who remembers the change they still remember it, even better if a couple of people remember the change like say his old crush when he was a man and his bestfriend who now takes him as his wife. I have some ideas for stories with the character becoming more dominant after changing but i never got around to writing them. Here's a greentext example.

>turns bullies into her harem who worship her as their goddess

Something i haven't seen enough of in tg content is the change being brought by jewelry or accessory like a choker or something, usually the transformation by clothing needs a whole outfit to transform the wearer and it's often permanent.
I prefer if the change isn't permanent but instead the character getting addicted to the change, maybe to explore repressed urges that he can't normally explore like for example the mc is in the closet and cannot indulge in his true desires for some plot contrived reason but then finds a way to transform to a woman to indulge in his androphilia, it's also one of the most realistic ways for the GB hentai trope of turning immediately into a slut to happen since it's the release years of sexual frustration.

Or it is a way for the character to indulge in his dark desires and the gender change gives him a second face, a persona to do all the things he wanted to do with no way for their consequences to come back to him since it's not him doing those things but "her".

It's even better if it's both with at first the transformation being used for repressed sexual urges but then quickly goes darker with the character slowly becoming corrupted and addicted to the freedom the transformation gives him from consequences and his boring regular life.

I've never seen a story that explores those ideas

1. Both men and women often have this idea that sex and relationship are things that happen to women and not things they actively seek out.
2. The TGed man is depressed upon being tged and isnt happen enough to be assertive
3. Women lack the upper body strength to rape men. Or even be dominant when there isnt consent.

Both archetypes and triggers can be traded between individuals, which makes both a brand new commodity. Someone with a "BBC addicted bimbo" archetype might be willing to pay a lot of money for you to give them your difficul to activate trigger in exchange for their more readily tripped one. Likewise, archetypes like "once in a generation genius science waifu" or "olympic level tomboy athlete" may be things people are willing to pay you for in exchange for their more mundane ones.

If you switch archetypes while having already progressed your current one a decent amount you'll end up as a blend of the two. Some people might seek out combinations to minmax a final form. Once it completes it becomes untradeable though.

Then I roll the dice and hope I get something good.

Sounds like one of those things that might've been tried once to see if it was feasible and then never done again because it didn't work well or was possible but far from practical. I think we do have the individual techniques needed for that under perfect circumstances, but putting them all together would be a nightmare, especially reattaching nerves. Limb transplants would still be a world away from a pelvis and upper femur transplant, let alone shoulders and ribs. That sounds like the stuff of surgical nightmares.
