Consistently issues with smoke addressing. Ask for overhead smoke and control space devices to throw Hat relay, 90% of the time the alarm guys have to reprogram. Really eats away at my adjusting time when I have to spend 5 hours pre-testing and your programmer is an hour away.

So do you just plug them in and then ...what? Start a fire to test them? What's to talk about? It's your thread, anon, what do YOU want to discuss in relation to fire alarms? I don't even have one, they're annoying.

Any commercial building is required to have some type of centralized fire alarm system installed in the modern world. Think of the red Fire devices you might see in a school or doctors office. They are connected to a main panel somewhere in the building. These systems require yearly checkups and tests to ensure they are functioning properly.

Can extreme smells (jeets making curry) trigger fire alarms. Every few months or so fire alarm outside my door starts blasting without apparent reason and I have to stay up closing it every 15min, or indians downstairs start banging on my door and screaming that I have to do something about it since it's outside my apartment. The smell is always so thick that its more close to mustard gas than food.

Call-maker for a fire department billing company here
How the FUCK do businesses have so much trouble passing their inspections? And why do so many of these knuckle draggers fail to provide good contact info?
Some people don't get charged until their 3rd reinspection and it's still not rare to see these same people with 4ths!
Pay your fuckin' fire department, people. Rant over.

You need a specific qualification / license to install and inspect fire alarms? Aren't they all effectively wifi-connected plug and play these days? I get needing someone to come out and inspect them for rentals, but paying out the ass for a specific fire alarm guy to come out feels like paying an electrician's wage to mount your tv.

I have no idea what the cost-of-living is like over there right now, but $28USD is about $42.50 Australian dollars. That's the same hourly rate as a fully qualified electrician over here, and a very comfortable living wage.

That's not the ONLY thing I do. I don't dare post my real job title because I'm not sure how easy it would be to recognize me. I don't know how many fire department billing companies there are. I also send a shitton of emails and explain the nuances of business inspections to confused owners who say this should be going to the landlord instead (they're wrong).
>How
And the answer to your question is because verizon keeps trying to dodge invoices and needs someone to crack the whip/correct any information the inspector got wrong while running late to his pyromaniac support group or whatever it is that also takes up inspectors' free time.

Fire alarm systems are still predominantly hard wired into commercial, industrial, and residential(think high rise condos and apartment) buildings.

I have a question in regards to ansul sentry fire extinguishers. I have a a02xx fire extinguisher that I replaced with a newer one this one isnt bad it was holding just fine and I emptied out the baking soda (not actual baking soda it was really fine powder)

The gauges on the side of the handle, are they always pressurized, like if I were to unscrew it while the extinguisher still has pressure, will it start to lose pressure without squeezing the handle?
